TW: Gore, Violence, Horror, Death
Yay! My first only Zelda one lol.
Zelda stood at the edge of the front porch of Link's house in Hateno Village. She shivered, wrapping her arms around her body as she looked up at the dark sky. She couldn't help but shake the feeling something that something was coming.
"Zelda?" A voice asked, making her nearly jump out of her skin. She relaxed when she saw it was only Link.
"L-Link," Zelda said.
"Sorry...I did not mean to frighten you," Link said.
"You did not," Zelda lied. "Have you gotten this feeling that something is coming?"
"No...and I'm sure it's nothing...it's probably Halloween getting to you," Link said.
"O-Okay," Zelda said, looking out at the village one last time before turning to face Link.
"Come on," Link said, wrapping an arm around her and beginning to lead her inside. "You'll be fine...I'll protect you if there's anything there."
Zelda nodded and climbed into bed with him. She let unconscious take a hold of her.
🩸
Zelda awoke to the sound of glass shattering. She moved around, noticing that Link was no longer in bed with her.
'He's probably just dropped a glass of water,' Zelda thought, trying to calm herself.
"Link?" Zelda called out...no reply. "Link?!"
Zelda slid out of bed and tip toed down the stairs.
"Link?" She called again...still no reply.
She walked into the main room, seeing a smashed glass, that had been full of water, on the floor.
"Alright Link, this is not funny," Zelda said, beginning to turn around. "Seriously just sh—"
Zelda froze in horror. Link, who had words slashed into him, was hanging on the hook above the door from the collar of his night shirt. The words read: I'M COMING FOR YOU PRINCESS!
Zelda stood there for a few more seconds, completely horrified, shaking like a leaf in a mad breeze. Finally, she let out a shrill scream.
The scream woke the villagers nearby, who then went to get the mayor. If anything happened in the village, Mayor Reede was the first to know. He climbed out of bed and made his way towards Link's house. He wasn't prepared for the sight he saw when he pushed the door open.
Zelda sat there, caressing Link's dead body, blood soaked into her nightgown. Her head rested on Link's unmoving chest.
"Hylia," was all Reede managed to say.
"Link," Zelda sobbed.
"Princess," Reede said, finally finding his tongue. "We need to get you somewhere safe."
Zelda tearfully nodded, standing up, trying not to look at the blood coating her body. She stepped out of the house and followed Reede back to his house, thankful it was night, so no one was around to see her disgraceful attire. A Princess never walked around with blood on herself.
Reede gave her one of his wife's nightgowns to change into and lent her a mattress on the floor. Despite laying down on a soft mattress, Zelda could not sleep.
She was too afraid.
🩸
The next morning, Paya greeted her and explained that Zelda was going to Kakariko Village. Zelda nodded, hoping on her horse.
Night came once more, as the village was about a days trip. Paya, despite Zelda's protests, insisted they make camp for the night. Despite Zelda's urges to stay awake, the elixir that Paya had given her to help her sleep kicked in, and forced her to sleep.
🩸
The next morning, Zelda had awoken to Paya's lifeless body next to her. She screamed, looking at the words carved into Paya.
BUT FIRST I WILL HURT THOSE AROUND YOU
Zelda couldn't take it anymore. If this person was going to hurt those around her, then she should isolate herself. She galloped away...her destination clear in her mind: The Great Plateau.
Where she wouldn't hurt anyone else.
🩸
It had been several weeks since Zelda had gotten to the Great Plateau. She had found refuge in an old hut in a small forest. There had been no signs of this person, nor had anyone else been killed. That was a good sign.
That was until today.
This random person came over to Zelda's but one day and said:
"Hall-O."
Zelda knew it was the person, and grabbed her sword and bow. She eyes the person up and down, knowing it was a Yiga, judging by the uniform, and also a woman.
"That's cute," she sneered, getting out her weapon—a Demon Cleaver—and a Sickle. "Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Master Sakira. The new Master of the Yiga Clan."
Sakira walked towards Zelda, hips rocking as she walked.
"What do you want from me?" Zelda asked.
"Your head!" Sakira said, as she swiped her weapons up at Zelda.
Zelda dodged the swing, thankful that Link taught her how to fight.
The two fight, dodging and exchanging blows. Zelda begins to tire, but Sakira shows little tiredness. Zelda's swings get sloppy and more desperate.
"You've held out longer than I thought you would. I'm impressed," Sakira said. "That knight taught you something."
Zelda panted heavily, blood dripping down her arm and stomach from wounds. Zelda braces herself as she sees Sakira charge. To her surprise, Sakira stops half way and gasps. She looks down to see two sword in her. She screams as the swords are yanked out of her and she falls to the ground.
Zelda looks up to see a dark skinned woman with blazing red hair standing behind Sakira's body.
"Riju," Zelda whispered.
"It's time to come home Princess," Riju said.
Zelda nodded and walked off with Riju, hoping no one would hurt her or her friends ever again.
