AN: Good lord, I can't believe I'm this close to the end of season 4. One more season and this book will be finished. And Season 5 is only, like, 20 episodes, so theoretically, that won't take very long. School does start next Thursday, though, so on second thought, maybe it will.
That said, I've been considered what to write after this book finishes, because I love writing and want to keep doing it. I'd like to say I'd keep with the TMNT theme and do this kind of story with another version, but to be honest, I haven't seen another version besides 2012, because that's the one that was released when I was a kid and that's the one I grew up watching. I've read a bunch of stories about other versions (mostly the Rise version, which is what I'm most familiar with outside of 2012), but none of them interest me enough that I want to watch the actual series and do a book.
I do have plans, though. My best friend xXDragonRider21Xx and I do a bunch of roleplays on Warrior Cats Ultimate Edition on Roblox, and we've gotten so into two of them that we're working on books for them. Those are a serious work in progress, though, and wouldn't be published for a while.
I have been thinking of doing this kind of story with The Owl House (one of my favorite shows ever) and using these same OCs. It's been interesting me, but I'm still working on sorting out backgrounds, so that also probably wouldn't be published for a while.
But one that I've been actually been thinking about for a little while and that has become seriously intriguing to me is doing an AU of this book where Lucian and Pepper switch places. The idea of how the plot would change with that has become very interesting to me lately. I think I'd only do up to the end of Season 2 with that, though, because that's when Pepper would switch sides and the plot would just follow the plot of this book, with some very minor changes here and there.
Anyway, this author's note has gone on much longer than I intended. Thank you to any of you who took the time to read it instead of skipping past into the actual chapter. That being said, let's get into it, because I've been excited for Requiem and Owari for so long.
Mikey slid in front of the TV with a huge smile. "My dudes and dudette, my bros, my sisters. It's that time again. Our series is winding down. The end of a season, the final episode of 'Chris Bradford and his 2 Ruff Krew'!" He lifted the cassette tape above his head and then placed it in the VCR and sped down to the floor, panting.
The episode didn't end up making all that much sense, since Lil' Rineo had apparently been the Evil Ninja Commander.
Once the episode ended, Pepper got up and headed for the dojo, where Father was sitting before the shrine, meditating. "Father."
"Hmm?" He was brought out of his meditation, turning to look at her.
"You've been kind of distant the past few days. You've been meditating non-stop and you're barely sleeping. Are you okay?"
Father got up to face her. "Pepper, my daughter, please." He moved to stand before her. "Let us not talk about me. Let's talk about you? Do you know why you are leader of this team?"
She blinked in surprise. What? "Um, yeah, because I'm the oldest. You said it wasn't because of my skills."
Father chuckled. "I only said that to temper your ego at the time. I knew even when you were a small girl that you would one day grow up to be the leader of this team, and when I pass on to be like a mother as well."
Her ears flattened. "Pass on? W-what are you talking about, Father?"
"Pepper, if I can only impart one piece of wisdom that will remain with you, forever, remember, giving guidance to your siblings and friends does not come from here." He pointed to her head. "It comes from here." He moved his hand, resting it on her chest, over her heart. He gave her a warm smile, nodding before withdrawing his hand.
