You know, of all the ways the mission could've gone, Pepper didn't expect this. Not by a long-shot. She was sure once they'd destroyed the portal, they'd be home free. But, staring up at the gigantic Technodrome, she felt immensely grateful that April was safe in the lair.

"I think I speak for all of us when I say....Ah! Ah! AHH...!" Mikey screamed fearfully.

"You and me both, buddy!" Raya piped up, voice shaking slightly.

What're we gonna do now?!

"What the heck is that thing?!" Raph yelled.

"It's the end of the world!" Leo responded.

"Actually," Donnie cut in, "it's just the end of humanity's reign as the planet's dominant life form. You know, like, when the dinosaurs--"

"Now?!" Nyx cut him off angrily.  "Really?! You're gonna do this now?"

"Well, excuse me!" Donnie snapped. "But, it's how I deal with stress!"

"Enough!" Pepper shouted from her place on Raph's back. "Stop fighting! We've gotta get away from that thing, we have no idea what it's capable of."

"Well, maybe it doesn't have weapons," Raph said, rather hopefully. "Does it look like it has weapons?"

Pepper had just enough time to turn her head before several giant pink lasers shot past them. "Yep!" she yelled. "It has weapons, and big ones!"

The second she spoke, the weapons fired at maximum amount. They had to constantly duck and dodge to avoid getting hit, yelling as they looped around and around to avoid the lasers. Mikey went out of control and slammed right into Donnie.

"Donnie! Mikey!" Leo yelled.

The two went spinning, crashing into the roof of a nearby building. Raya went after them, dodging lasers to land gracefully on the roof. Nyx and Leo were close behind.

"What now?" Raph demanded.

He tried to swerve through the lasers, but lost control and sent them tumbling out of the sky and toward an alley. Pepper lost her hold on the handles of Raph's wings, and she was thrown off, landing on a filthy mattress while Raph hit the alley wall and slid into the dumpster.

"Are you guys alright?" Donnie asked as he and the others slid down the fire escape.

"Been better," Raph groaned.

A huge shadow loomed over them, and Pepper looked up to see the Technodrome hovering above them. Somehow, it looked scarier down there than it did from in the air.

"What do we do now?" Donnie asked Pepper.

"We need to talk to Splinter," she replied. "C'mon!"

"Hello? Sensei?"

"April?"

"Spike?!" Raph looked around the living room, searching for his pet. There was movement from one of the pillows in the pit, and Spike lifted his little head. Raph immediately ran and picked up the little turtle, placing him on his shoulder. "Oh, don't scare me like that, buddy," he sighed, smiling down at his pet.

Pepper grinned at him before looking around. "Where is everyone?"

"I dunno," Mikey said. He turned and headed for the dojo, and Pepper followed behind. To her surprise, Sensei wasn't there. She was sure he and April would've been there. Maybe he was in his room. "Anyone in here?" Mikey asked, looking around.
