Avery's POV:
Another life, another week, another level of college stress. Today's the reading week but I have to dedicate everything my time management in just to comply everything last week especially my unfinished assignments. I've been sleep deprived, and Lord knows how to handle all of these things.
I have been crying for the past nights. Alex updated me and yet I had to lie to him that I was doing fine in my college but deep inside I wasn't. I was stressed enough and I'd sleep around 2-4 in the morning and would wake up around 7-8.
Clearly, I can still survive this. I told myself. Been telling myself a lot of times and I was such too hypocrite for promising myself. I'd lie all the time.
I had to give myself a break from studying. This day, the third day of reading week, I still have to finish making the cardigans I've been working on. All of them were almost finished but one more was remaining. A cardigan for myself. I picked the blue color since it's just a calm and serene at all. For Alex's one, I clearly made an effort making it, it was a turtle neck style, a black one. For my friends' part, had to make them green, beige, red, purple, and black since most of them prefer these type of colors that describe themselves. While in the middle of crocheting, one of my favorite song from the oldies called My Girl by The Temptations was playing along, and I was singing along to the lyrics.
I was finished crocheting my cardigan and suddenly, my phone rang, the caller was no other than Alex Turner himself;
"Hello", I said as I picked up the line.
"Hola Ave", Gosh, he sounded like an American when he sounded 'hola'. He should've had my friend Carlos as his Spanish teacher, not me, since he was a native from Spain.
"Okay, hi.", I sighed, " Why did you call though?"
"I always check up on you, you still new to it?"
"Not really. Was just wondering though. How are you, Alex?", I strolled my way to the kitchen and then eventually grabbed a can of Coca-Cola from the refrigerator.
"Brazil tour is over. Next stop right now, Colombia", I could clearly hear some cars beeping around in the background.
"Wait a sec, you're on your way to the airport?"
"Yeah", Alex cleared his throat, "Sorry for that. Anyways, how are you, Avery?"
"Been studying and this time, I already finished making my cardigans for the fall season", I sat myself on the sofa chair and drank my coke.
"Crocheting is one of your hobbies?", Alex asked out of curiosity and he was chuckling a bit in the background.
"When it gets boring, perhaps", I laughed.
"Come on, love. Exams are in next week right?", Alex was being curious. I could hear the expression in his voice.
"Yeah, and don't worry about me, I've been studying all the time and doing fine, been sleeping a lot actually", I lied to him as I didn't want to tell Alex what I really felt these days.
"Glad to hear that, love. Oh wait, after your exams, it's your birthday right?", Oh God, he remembered my birthday.
"Yeah, yeah. I don't have any plans on where to celebrate yet. Maybe the place where Lando and I work at, the café", I told him.
