47: Christmas in Sheffield

Avery's POV:

I woke up. It's finally the most wonderful time of the year for me and in Sheffield. I had to call my family, and of course, I had to greet my mom the happiest birthday she deserves in this world. Even if they haven't known each other yet in person, Penny talked to my mom and even greeted her a 'happy birthday'. Even David was also in bliss, he finally got the chance to also talk with my parents.

The entire celebration was simple but one of the the most beautiful things I've faced in my life. One of the best things that happened in my life this year, Alex. I even helped Penny and Al by decorating the simple Christmas Tree in which Alex successfully placed the star on the top as he was too adorable wearing a Christmas sweater.

For the rest of my time here in Sheffield, Alex took me on a tour of the city. He even showed me his alma mater, especially Barnsley College in which he spent most of his time with his friends, especially Matt. And then he also toured us around where the band made their first gig, rehearsed for every show, and so on. It was such a lovely experience that I got to know more about my other half just because of his native town. We were like the weird kids as we ate ice cream even though it was super cold.

And now, we're back in Alex's warm home. We were unpacking gifts . What they didn't know, I also had something in hand for them. We also wore Christmas hats, looking like the Santa Clauses of the town.

"Avery, this is for ya, love", Penny handed me something like a box as I could feel it inside the wrapper. I also handed her and David the mysterious gifts.

This time, I handed Alex something that was really mysterious, a small box, "For you, Al"

"Thank you, Ave", he smiled like a child.

And now, we finally opened up what's inside our Christmas wrappers. To my surprise, Penny gave me a lovely necklace, a golden necklace with my name on it;

"Oh my god, this is too cute", I fell in love with the necklace, "thank you so much for this"

"Oh dear. It wasn't really from David and I. The necklace is from Alex's and he just told us to keep his gift for ya as a secret", Penny said and Alex just chuckled in which I pinched his cheek.

"Mum", Alex groaned for a bit, "Ye just exposed me"

"Stop being a dirty liar, Alex", David suddenly interrupted, "we know who you are, young lad" we just chuckled.

Alex told us to open his gift later, for Penny's I gifted her an antique bracelet, for David's, it was a perfume. They even thanked me for my lovely gift, even if it was just simple to be honest. The entire night, we just made jokes. Penny even showed us photos of Alex in his early days which I had never seen before. There was this photo of Alex dressed as a donkey in his high school days for their drama class. I laughed and teased Alex at it in which he ended up pinching my hip.

Alex's the one who put the necklace on my neck. He even loved it as he's the only one who bought it just for me, for me.

Penny and David were now asleep. Alex and I were the only ones left in the living room. Watching every snowfall on the ground, Alex wrapped his arms around me as he also pressed soft kisses on my head.

"Happy Christmas, Ave", he continued kissing my head, I turned around and pulled him into a soft kiss.

"Let's sit on the couch", I pulled away from the kiss. The fireplace was lit in order to make ourselves comfortable with its warmth.

"I can't fucking wait to open me gift", those puppy eyes of him showed when the two of us sat down on the couch. The dark television was reflecting our appearances. "Okay, what's inside this wrapper?" Alex was too excited like a toddler as he couldn't wait to unwrap the gift.
