Alex's POV:

On our flight back to Los Angeles, I was exhausted. Being jet lagged wasn't easy. I couldn't sleep well as I was trying hard to. Luckily, Matt's house helped me to bring out another comfort space again for me to relax. I do have my own home here in LA but I was so tired and I was the only one who was living there.

Now we're in Sage and Sound recording studio. It's the time that we're working on for this album we've been dying to make. I was wearing Avery's handmade cardigan while I was holding my Vox Starstream XII electric guitar, doing some solos for the song I wrote. I sought help from the three little pigs and they helped me to compose the song. Nick found the lyrics catchy and romantic at the same and he also teased me that I really got an inspiration from someone else.

While on the break, Matt was taking a video of me, smoking while still playing chords from my Vox guitar. He even told me to say hi in the video and even raised my brows while waving my hand. Matt ended up joining Jamie and Nick to play tennis around the corner of the studio.

Jamie lost the game and it was a showdown between Matt and Nick, he ended up getting his phone from his pocket in which he sat down beside me. I had no idea Jamie was just playing Subway Surfers until he showed me a video of Avery singing; Oh wow.

Jamie cleared his throat before speaking in front of me, "Al, have you heard Avery singing a song? Well, Bridgette sent me this one since they had a recent sleepover at their friend's house", I just nodded, he immediately played the video of Avery and one of her friends, Abigail, singing the song from John Mayer, Slow Dancing in A Burning Room. In the middle of watching the video, I found her voice again to be astonishing unlike mine. I smiled like a foolish child while holding my guitar and everyone cheered for Ave and Abigail. She could've been a singer if she wanted to. The next video of hers was playing the guitar solo of one of my favourites from Eagles, Hotel California. She was drunk and I bopped my head while she did the guitar cover. Even when she messed up in the end, she was great. She did great. I'm proud of her as always.

Eventually, I started writing drafts of lyrics for every song after I worked out with the first one. Throughout the day, we just made jokes of the songs I wrote in which I sang with my 12-string acoustic guitar and was joined by Matt's pair of maracas.

It was 12 AM, I barely ate a meal. All of us were still awake in the middle of the night. I just sat down and kept fidgeting with the recording buttons as I was too bored to do something that makes me comfortable.

Until a text message bothered me, I opened my inbox, it was no other than her. She sent me a video of her singing a song in which I never heard of, not until....

"I forgot to tell you this one, I wrote this song in '09 and I never finished it cause I've been busy with school works since", she stated.

Until I gave her written song a listen, carefully. Avery was strumming her guitar at first and eventually I fell in love with those lyrics;

"Put your lips close to mine
As long as they don't touch
Out of focus, eye to eye
'Til the gravity's too much
And I'll do anything you say
If you say it with your hands
And I'd be smart to walk away
But you're quicksand,

This slope is treacherous
This path is reckless
This slope is treacherous
And I, I, I like it,
