The moon hung low in the night sky, casting a silver glow upon the desolate landscape that the two demons were in. The air was heavy with tension, a reminder of the long lasted rivalry upon the two. It was unusual for them to be so civilized like this, not once had they made any attacks on the other. They hadn't even bickered, and even that managed to surprise Douma.

Douma's platinum blond hair looked majestic in the moonlight, it almost seemed to glow. He looked unreal. His rare multicolored eyes lacked of life, there was no light that shown in those eyes of his. Yet he was still an incredibly beautiful man, but in an uncanny way.

Akaza, with his bright pink hair and intimidating golden eyes that gave off an aura, an aura that held determination, and power. He was tense, being with the blond scared him, but he didn't like to admit that. He knew he couldn't trust the demon beside him, he was forced to be prepared for anything when he was around the blond, sometimes on rare occasions Douma would swing at him when he least expected it. And it hurt like hell, he was so strong, and unpredictable. And it made Akaza's hatred for the other start to rise, making it his destiny to someday defeat that insufferable man.

They stood side by side in the lush forest, not daring to say a word to the other. They seemed to be in their own little worlds, it had been ages since they were meant to socialize, and still they chose to ignore each other. Acting like shy teenagers. Although both of them wanted to say something, most likely insults. They couldn't bring themselves to talk, Akaza did it out of spite, and Douma did it out of being too lost in his own mind.

All Akaza really wanted to do was go back to his dojo, and have some alone time. He couldn't stand being with his superior for more than just a few minutes, but unfortunately he had to stay by his side the entire night. The two never understood why they were usually paired together when they were sent on missions. But the demon king knew, he had studied every each and one of his demons very closely, he noticed that Douma was strong, but he didn't do well in close combat and was ignorant. Akaza, he was smart in battle, and he could throw some powerful punches. They were almost like opposites, and that's what made them better when they worked together. With Akaza's intelligence, and Douma's fighting tactics they were the perfect pair.

The only downside was that they always managed to get into a fight, if Douma breathed the wrong way that would set Akaza off. You could tell that they were a toxic duo, but they worked so well together in battle so Muzan had no choice but to pair them up.

Akaza always threatened Douma, as if he wasn't his superior. Akaza has had many blood battles with Douma, but he just could never predict what the blond's next moves would be. He was never killed off when he lost the battles, it was almost as if Douma wanted to encourage Akaza to fight. And even though that may be a little true, the way Douma puts it is that he's just too tired to kill him completely. After all he was quite lazy.

Finally, Douma spoke up. "Why do you always have to be so damn insufferable?" His voice was laced with bitterness, which was so unlike him.

Akaza could feel his lips curling up in a smug smile, "And here I was, thinking you found our arguments amusing. Weren't you the one who always insisted on having pointless arguments?"

"This isn't funny." Douma hissed, crossing his arms and grabbing his sides, hard enough that his incredibly sharp nails were able to break his skin. It didn't bother him in the slightest though, his wounds would heal in no time. "Why are you so worked up like this, usually I'd be the one mad here." Akaza joked.
