It was heavy breathing that slowly brought me back to the real world. "What's happening?" I mumbled sleepily, opening my eyes slowly. I saw a dark shadow sitting on my bed and quickly realised it was Kristin.

"Kristin? H-Hold up, what's going on?" I said, my eyes snapping open as I quickly turned the lamp on. Kristin was sitting up and silently crying with her eyes tightly shut. "P-Phil?" She said, looking at me tiredly and then her eyes flew open. "O-Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up, I-" She said, then broke down entirely, her sobs now more clear and louder.

"H-Hey, what's wrong?" I asked, sitting up quickly and moving closer to her. She didn't answer and kept on crying. "Oh, honey," I said as my eyes softened. I gently wrapped my arm around her and hugged her. She buried her head in my chest and continued sobbing. "Shh, it'll be alright," I mumbled, running my fingers through her hair, trying to comfort her. "P-Phil-" She said, her voice cracking. "Yeah?" I mumbled, continuing to run my fingers through her hair.

"Phil, I- I saw him," Kristin said, leaning back from me so I could see her face. My heart dropped and I looked at her face closely. "Saw who, Kristin?" I said softly, silently hoping it was the opposite of what I was thinking.

"F-Fundy." She said and my heart almost stopped beating. There was silence for a few moments before I said something. "Y-You saw saw him? Like, in that sense?" I said, trying to keep my voice from breaking. She nodded silently, another tear running down her face. I shook my head and moved back slightly, not believing it.

"N-No, you- I mean, it c-couldn't be him, right? There are so many o-other boys who are foxes, i-it could be anyone-" I said in disbelief, a smile creeping onto my face. I searched Kristin's face for any sign of her joking. "Y-You're joking, right." I said, the smile widening as Kristin stayed silent, tears still running down her face. "R-Right?" I said weakly, my smile sliding off my face and tears pricking my eyes.

"P-Phil, whenever someone... p-passes- I can see their whole life. Who they were, who they had relationships with, everything. This... this was definitely Fundy." She said, another tear rolling down her face. "No..." I muttered as a tear threatened to fall.

"P-Phil- You didn't see him- He was-" She stuttered, and another flood of tears emerged from her eyes. That was when my tears started falling. "What happened to him?" I asked quietly, hugging her again. "I- I was going to make him choose between Paradise or return to Wilbur, b-but-" She choked and I felt her tears soak through my shirt. My grip tightened on her as I comforted her. "But what?" I asked gently.

"H-He got revived." She said and I froze. "R-Revived? But there's only one revival book and you gave it to-" I said shakily and she looked at me. "It somehow got into her hands. I swear to Prime when I get my hands on that woman I will-" She said, shaking with anger and I felt her fists clench as she buried her head in my chest.

"Shh, it's alright. Don't worry, we'll get our fox back." I said, rubbing her back. "Kristin, look at me," I said, looking at her. She looked at me and I gripped her shoulders. "Whatever happens, we do not tell Wilbur about this. Understand?" I said and she nodded shakily. "Alright." She said with a nod.

"Dad?" A voice said and I looked around wildly. "Dad!" A voice said and I realised I was behind the curtain of the main stage at the festival. "You alright?" Wilbur said, looking at me with concern. I nodded with a small smile as I felt a small twinge of guilt while looking at my son. I realised the flashback was from this morning with a sinking heart. I couldn't bear to look at his face so I looked away and saw Kristin sitting on a chair while looking at me. "What time is it?" I asked, looking at my watch. Techno peeked out of the curtain and then looked at me.

"Almost time for the announcement."
