"Slytherins, follow me." Gemma said, and she was walking with what looked to be the Head Boy of Slytherin.
"Come on now, over here. We will be heading down near the dungeons, you would not have to worry about the staircases moving." He said.
They went deep below the school to get to their common room. They eventually came to the entrance and all the students stood by the prefects, waiting for something to happen.
"Pure-blood" He said, and the entrance opened. The Slytherin common room was beautiful, and through the windows was a tinted green from the lake.
"Boys' dormitories on my right and girls' dormitories on my left. You'll find all your belongings in your rooms. He said.
"Has the password always been Pure-Blood?" Maurelle asked Draco.
The Head Boy overheard her.
"No, not always. It changes" he said. His eyes then fixated on her as if he had realized something, "You must be Maurelle Freya. I noticed you talking to Gemma in the Great Hall. Let me introduce myself, I am Darius Crowley, Head Boy of Slytherin. I think it's wonderful we have you in our house. No other house would best suit your needs than here. Please, if you have any questions at all, feel free to come to me" he said before leaving.
Maurelle's impression of Darius was a clean cut and handsome boy. His hair shined a dark burgundy hue. It was gelled and sleek. He had a cologne that smelled of teakwood and vanilla. She could tell that he came from a rich family.
Gemma creeps up behind her, "How are you feeling so far? I see you met Darius, dark fellow, isn't he?"
"He smelled nice" Maurelle spat out, it was the first thing on her mind. She regretted saying anything in the first place.
Gemma saw to her embarrassment and laughed, "I know, he always has that sweet and masculine scent. I always annoy him about where he buys his cologne"
Despite being Head Girl of Slytherin, she had a warm aura around her that isn't intimidating. You could come to her for anything and she'd gladly help you. All the chatter about Slytherins being the worst there are, she defies that.
"I'm sorry, but I would never peg you to be in the house of Slytherin" Maurelle said.
"I know, I get it all the time. It was between this or Hufflepuff. Complete opposites but we're all one in the same" she said.
"I guess it's a breath of fresh air to meet people like you in this house" Maurelle said,
"Thanks, and to you as well. You'll find that not everyone here in the house of Slytherin is all mean. You just have to bring out the best in them" Gemma said.
They all went to their assigned rooms and found their belongings waiting for them. She sees hers and anothers. She thought it was odd that only two of them were housed in a room meant for four. Her roommate walks in, Tracy Davis. She had long hair that was a honey brown shade. She had freckles and her face showed a much kinder one than Pansy's.
"Hi, Maurelle!" she waved.
"Hey Tracy!" Maurelle waved back.
"Looks like we got lucky. Millicent, Daphne, and Pansy are sharing a room together. Seems we had an uneven distribution as far as houses go so we are the lucky two to be housed together" Tracy said as she jumped on her bed.
"I'm honestly glad that you're my roommate, I would've dreaded sharing a room with Pansy. I can tell she doesn't like me much" Maurelle sat on the edge of her bed.
"Yeah, I get that vibe from her too! But don't worry, there are more friends you can make here. I saw a bunch of people talking to others from different houses. We made friends before we got housed, why should it change because we're in Slytherin or Gryffindor?" Tracy said, kicking her shoes off.
