Draco waited for Maurelle in the common room. While he was there, Blaise was about to head out until he noticed him.
"Draco, what are you still doing here? Are you not going to the quidditch game, against Ravenclaw?" Blaise said.
"No, I have already made plans." Draco said.
"With Pansy? But she is headed over there right now?" Blaise said.
"No, not with her." Draco said.
"Oooohh" Blaise had a dumb smile on his face,"Victoria, huh?" he sat next to him.
Draco looked down, embarrassed.
"Don't worry, I'll cover you for Pansy. Besides, any girl who isn't Pansy, is perfect for you." Blaise said.
"I appreciate that, mate, but this is purely mutual." Draco laughed.
"Riight." Blaise said.
"Come on, man. You know how I feel about Maurelle." Draco said.
"I know, I know. But it is nice to see you with someone else. It's about time you move on and Pansy does not count. I've seen you with Maurelle, you truly did love her, but as your friend, I think it is time to let that relationship go." Blaise said.
"Wow, thanks for being supportive." Draco scoffed.
"I'm serious, mate. I wouldn't want you to get hurt again, besides. I think you and I both know who Maurelle truly loves. It was so obvious from the beginning. Harry and Maurelle have something. You might have that something with someone else too, maybe Victoria, maybe someone else. " Blaise said.
Draco knew he was right. He saw the way Maurelle and Harry acted towards each other. It made him jealous of how Harry had someone like Maurelle. He tried to get that same feeling and relationship with Pansy, forcing himself, but it was no use.
"Alright, enough of this talk, I'm gonna head on out, Draco. Hope you have fun." Blaise said.
"Yeah, thanks." Draco said.
Maurelle finally walked out, "Thanks for waiting on me. I hope I didn't take too long."
Draco looked up, "No, it's all good." he said.
They walked out of the castle and made their trip to Hogsmeade. They went inside The Three Broomsticks. Maurelle took a seat at a table, and Draco walked over with their butterbeer.
"Thanks!" Maurelle said.
"Cheers?" Draco lifted his cup.
"Cheers." she smiled and clinked her cup with his.
They both drank, and Maurelle had a bit of whip cream on her nose. Draco laughed at her.
"What?" she tilted her head.
"You've got something here." Draco chuckled as he motioned her where the cream was.
Maurelle was embarrassed and immediately wiped her nose.
"Where did you stay over the holidays?" he said.
"Dumbledore is my temporary guardian, so for a few days I was here and then I went to go live with him." she lied.
"Wha's it like living with the headmaster?" he said.
"Nothing special really. It's just tiring hearing what people have to say about me." she said.
"What do they say? If you don't mind." he said.
"No, not at all. They just constantly say how I am a teacher's pet or I have advantages. But I've excelled in my classes on my own and have been doing well in duels. I just hate how people think I am replacing Maurelle. I mean there is nothing wrong with her, but I'd like to think I am my own person and not someone else's" she said.
