Draco paused for a moment and took a deep breath.

"Why don't you say it, Draco. Aloud this time." Dumbledore said.

Draco looks deep into Dumbledore's eyes. His hand trembles.

"I think it is best you don't meddle yourself into this mess. It is not too late to turn back, Draco. The last thing Maurelle would have wanted was for you to join them."

Transfixed, Harry watches from the shadows. Slowly, Draco begins to lower his wand, when footsteps echo. The door flies open: Bellatrix, Greyback and the others.

"Well now, look what we have here. Dumbledore. Wandless and alone. Cornered in his own castle. Well done, Draco." she said.

Harry peers up, eyes flashing angrily at the sound of Bellatrix's voice. He draws his wand slowly.

"Good evening, Bellatrix. I think introductions are in order." Dumbledore said.

"Love to, Albus. But I'm afraid we're on a bit of a tight schedule." she turned to Draco, "Do it."

Draco's wand rises once again. Harry raises his own, aiming through the grid, poised.

"He doesn't have the stomach. Like his father. " Greyback said, referring to Draco,"Let me finish him. In my own way."

"No! The Dark Lord was clear. The boy's to do it. " Bellastrix said.

Just then, a shadow splinters through the columns to Harry's right. He looks, finds Snape, quiet as a ghost, peering upward. Carefully, Snape draws his wand, then turns to Harry, a finger to his lips: Shhh. Maurelle suddenly snuck up behind him, she places a hand on his shoulder, gently. Harry tried to speak but she took her finger and placed it on his lips to shush him. By doing so it revealed her dark mark in which Harry sees.

"Go, Snape. He needs you." Maurelle whispered.

Snape is drifting upward. Silent. A ghost again.

Maurelle uncovered his mouth and turned him around.

"Maurelle, I know it's you." Harry said.

"I know that now, Harry." She said in her normal voice, but still in her disguise. She wore a cloak, the same one she's been wearing. "need you to stay quiet, and lower your wand." Maurelle turned Harry around to him. She looked him straight in the eyes, "Whatever happens, I will always have your back, okay?"

Harry, was taking in too much of what was happening around him, he hesitantly nodded.

Snape walks up.

"Severus...." Dumbledore pleaded.

"Well, look who's here. Hogwarts own Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Come to see the slaughter." Bellastrix said.

Maurelle looked at Harry one last time giving him a slight smile before she leaves him. She walked up those stairs and stood beside Snape.

Draco was surprised to see Victoria, dressed as one of them, with her dark mark. He was so shocked, he didn't know how to react. He recognized the cloak when he first got the dark mark. He realized that she was the one torturing Maurelle.

"Victoria? You work for him?! You tortured Maurelle!!" Draco tried to stomp over to her, but was blocked by the death eaters next to him.

"Maurelle...." Dumbedore said.

Maurelle changed back to herself.

"What?!" Draco said, barely realizing Maurelle was with him the entire time.
