Maurelle sat down on the ground and opened up the book.

'I believe the most basic dark magic anyone could ever know are the unforgivable curses: Killing curse, Cruciatus curses and Imperius curse. However, performing such curses can really change the mind, soul, and body. It is up to the caster to control their conscience. '

Each curse had diagrams of how to handle the wand and the motion to do so. Maurelle practices the motions and saying it. But in order to fully understand it, she must experiment on her own. She saw critters passing by, but she hesitated on grabbing them. However, there was a doe nearby that was eating a patch of grass. Maurelle moves closer to it, but the doe sensed something else and ran away. Maurelle saw a wolf headed to where the doe was previously at. The wolf saw Maurelle and decided to go after her instead of the doe. It crept up slowly while Maurelle moved back. It started to pick up its pace and Maurelle drew her wand.

"Imperio!" Maurelle casted. It's eyes turned white and she controlled the wolf.
She lifted the spell and the wolf shook it self off, having back its conscience. It grew a bit more agitated that before.

"Crucio!" She said. The wolf whimpered in pain and was on the ground, scratching its paws on the dirt floor.
She lifted the spell in hopes the wolf will run away, but it was even angrier. It jumped towards her, it's mouth wide open.

"Avada Kedavra!" She yelled. A green flash shot out from her wand and into the wolf. It stopped the wolf mid air.

Maurelle slowly walked towards the wolf. She bent down and tried to feel the wolf's pulse, but there was none.

"I did it. " Maurelle said surprised by her own actions.

She didn't feel any guilt for what she has done. After doing those unforgivable curses, she became more comfortable in learning the rest.

She learned how to jinx and hex to making potions. She even learned how to curse objects. Iris listed all the spells she created and were famed for. While she experimented with most of the Dark Arts contained in the book, there is one thing she will never do, creating a Horcrux.

After learning the basics of Dark Arts, she ventured into Necromancy.

'Necromancy is complex and difficult task to do. Not many wizards and witches can achieve this so easily. Before diving into this power, one must first create their own inferius. As Grindelwald once told me, "If you can't be in control of a vile creature, how could you possibly control a whole army of them."

You MUST not  fear it. It feeds off of it, and will gain control over you.'

Maurelle followed her mother's incantation and wand movements as shown in the book. However, in order to perform this, she would need the dead body of a human. She suddenly heard rustling, coming from the woods. She closed the book and hurried along inside the house. She hid behind one of the walls that was still standing up. She peeked over to see who it was.

There were two men, one who was short carrying a sack, while the other who was taller was dragging a cart full of belongings. They were in torn up clothing, all dirty and looked as though they don't know about dental hygiene. They stopped and stood, as soon as they emerged out of the woods.

"Look at what we have here! Isn't she a beaut." short one said.

"You know who used to live here. The great and late Iris Freya." the tall one said.
