Maurelle was hiding just outside of the library as she noticed her necklace shine bright when she stood near the area. She sees Harry walk out and pulls him to her.
"W-what?" Harry was confused.
"Shush. Listen" Maurelle whispered.
They heard someone whimpering from a classroom up ahead. As they drew closer, they heard Quirrell's voice.
"No — no — not again, please—"
It sounded as though someone was threatening him. Harry moved closer.
"All right — all right —" they heard Quirrell sob.
Next second, Quirrell came hurrying out of the classroom straightening his turban. He was pale and looked as though he was about to cry. He strode out of sight; the two didn't think Quirrell had noticed them. They waited until Quirrell's footsteps had disappeared, then peered into the classroom. It was empty, but a door stood ajar at the other end. They were halfway toward it until Harry stropped himself.
"Why are you stopping?" Maurelle whispered.
"I promised myself not to meddle anymore" he said.
"But this could be important" she said.
"I don't want to lose anymore points for Gryffindor. It's bad enough already. But if you are still going to go, be careful" he said.
"Fine, I'll let you know if I find anything" she said.
Both said their goodbyes and Maurelle walked to the door. She peers inside and noticed that no one was in there, but a mirror.
She sighed with relief that no one was in there, but then again, who could Quirrell be talking to.
The following morning, owls came flying in dropping morning letters. Both Maurelle and Draco got their detention notice.
"I can't believe I have to join you hoodlums" he said.
"It's your fault for being nosy" she said.
"If I was successful, only Potter and his friends would've gotten the detention" he said.
"Successful? She didn't believe your story about a dragon" she said.
"Whatever, at least this puts us back at the top. There is no way Gryffindors can win the House cup this year" he said.

At eleven o' clock that night, Maurelle was waiting for Draco in the common room.
"Took you long enough" Maurelle had her arms crossed.
"Awe, you waited for me?" he said.
"I don't want you weaseling your way out of punishment. I want to watch you suffer" she said.
They start walking up the stairs that led out of their common room and into the dungeons. As they walked out of the main entrance. A snake shifts to reveal the door to let them out and slowly slithers down to hide the entrance.
"I bet they're going to make us write lines over and over," he said.
"Let's just hurry up to the entrance hall before we get another detention for being late" she said.
They went up to the entrance hall where they saw Filch.
"At least someone is punctual," Filch said.
Soon Harry, Hermione, and Neville walked down. By the look on Harry's face, it seems he forgot Draco also had detention.
