The four went to talk to Hagrid about what happened with his broom.

"Nonsense! Why would Snape put a curse on Harry's broom?!" Hagrid said.

"Who knows? Why was he trying to get past that three-headed dog on Halloween?" Harry said.

"Who told you about fluffy?" Hagrid said.

"Fluffy?" Ron said.

"That thing has a name?!" Hermoine said.

"Well, of course, he's got a name, he's mine. I bought him off from a fella at the pub last year. Then I lend him to Dumbledore to guard the-" Hagrid stopped before he could say anything.

"Yes?" Maurelle said, signaling him to continue.

"I shouldn't have said that. No more questions! Don't ask any more questions. That's top secret." Hagrid said.

"But Hagrid, whatever Fluffy's guarding, Snape's trying to steal it." Harry said.

"But Snape is a Hogwarts teacher." Hagrid said.

"Hogwarts teacher or not, I know a spell when I see one. I've read all about them, you got to keep contact and Snape wasn't blinking." Hermoine said.

"Exactly." Harry said.

"Wait a minute, from my perspective, Harry's broomstick was struggling to move smoothly, meaning that if a caster were to do the curse on his broom, the broom would have easily moved the way they wanted it to. However, a counter curse prevented that from happening, which also requires contact...I told you guys to be very optimistic about this, you should have seen who the other caster was. Whether it'd be Snape or not, someone knows something." Maurelle said.

"That is true, wait- ugh just listen to me, all of you are meddling into things that shouldn't be meddled with. It's dangerous. What that dog is guarding is strictly between Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel." Hagrid told them.

"Wait, Nicholas Flamel?!" Maurelle said.

"I shouldn't have said that. I should not have said that." Hagrid muttered to himself as he walked ahead.

"Who is Nicholas Flamel?" Harry said

Hermoine and Ron just shrugged their shoulders.

"Are you serious, you three don't know who that is?!" Maurelle said.

They just looked at each other, staring blankly.

"Even the muggle world knows who he is! He was a well-known Alchemist. It's been said that he discovered the Philosopher's stone and achieved immortality. Now that I think of it, it all makes sense! What lies beneath Hogwarts is the Stone!!" Maurelle said.

Hagrid's face went pale as Maurelle pieces it together.

Everyone was packing their bags and heading out of the castle to leave for the holidays. Maurelle found Hermione on the way to the Great Hall to find Harry and Ron. The boys were playing chess, and the girls walked in to find the Queen piece take its chair and smash the Knight piece.

"That's totally barbaric!" Hermione commented.

"That's wizards' chess." Ron said. He then noticed that they had their belongings with them and were ready to leave. "I see you two have packed."

"And you haven't?" Hermione said.

"Change of plans. My parents went to Romania to visit my brother Charlie. He's studying dragons there." Ron said.
