Snape and Lockhart were looking at the two, quite shocked and surprised that they know such a language.
"I think we've seen quite enough. Everyone, you are to be dismissed." Snape said.
Everyone started to disburse to their groups and left the room. Whispers echoing as they walked further into the halls.
The two professors left together to talk about the incident, leaving the four alone in the room.
"We should go somewhere quiet." Maurelle said.
They left to talk in a place away from everyone.
"You two are a Parselmouth? Why didn't you tell us?" Ron said.
"I'm a what?" Harry said.
"It means we can talk to snakes. Remember that incident at the zoo?" Maurelle said.
"Yeah, I remember. We accidentally set a python on my cousin Dudley at thezoo once." Harry said.
Ron looked mortified when he said that.
"Uh, once!" Harry clarified, " But, so what? I bet loads of people here can do it.
" No, they can't. It's not a very common gift, Harry. This is bad." Hermione said.
"What's bad? If I hadn't told that snake not to attack Justin." Harry said.
"Oh, that's what you said to it!" Ron was in disbelief.
"You were there! You heard me!" Harry looked at Maurelle.
"I heard you speaking Parseltongue, at first when I wasn't paying attention. But once I started listening, it became clear. Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the students who witnessed only saw and heard us hissing like a snake." she said.
"I spoke a different language? But- I didn't realize I- how can I speak a language without knowing I can? " Harry said.
"I don't know, Harry, but it sounded like you were egging the snake on, or something. Harry, listen to me. There's a reason the symbol of Slytherin House is a serpent. Salazar Slytherin was a Parselmouth. He could talk to snakes, too." Hermione said.
"Did you know, Maurelle?" Harry looked at her.
"I wasn't sure what the language was called, but ever since that zoo incident I knew something was off." Maurelle said.
" Now the whole school's gonna think one or both you are his great- great greatgrandchildren, or something." Ron said.
"He isn't wrong, I mean he lived a thousand years ago; for all we know, there's a slight chance you could be." Hermione added
" But I'm not... we can't be." Harry said, looking at Maurelle for reassurance.
But little did they know, that the grandchild of SLytherin was standing right before them.

Later on at night, Maurelle joined the three at the study hall. While they were working, whispers could be heard around them. Harry was looking back and saw students staring at him and Maurelle.
Maurelle looked up from her studies and took notice of Harry's discomfort.
"I'll see you back in the common room." He told Hermione and Ron.
He got up and everyone's eyes traced him as he left.
"I've had enough of this. I'll check up on him." Maurelle picked up her stuff and everyone treated her the same as they did to Harry.
