"What else was I supposed to do?!" A woman's voice echoed.
"Now you betray me?!" A man's voice echoed.
Maurelle was having nightmares again with the same voices. A man and a woman. She'd see their silhouette, but it was blurry. It was always bits and pieces of their conversations. She would wake up, drenched in sweat and out of breath.
"This hasn't happened in a while" She thought to herself. They would come and go. Maurelle didn't want to tell Augustana anything, as she thought these nightmares were nothing to worry about. She thought to herself that this would eventually pass as it usually does. Normally she'd seek comfort in Harry, but he isn't there with her. Not anymore.
She got out of her bed and went to the bathroom. She took a shower to clean herself up from the sweat. Then she heads to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She looked outside of her window as she drank the water.
Suddenly, an owl hit her window, making Maurelle jump. She opened the window to let the owl in.
"You gave me a heart attack." she said.
The owl gave Maurelle the letter and screech softly.
"Hey, your Ron's owl, Errol" she petted.
Maurelle opened the letter:
Dear Maurelle,
I was wondering if you would like to sleep over at my house before school starts. Fred, George, and I will come pick up Harry in a few. If you get there before us, don't tell me mum that we stole our dad's car.
-Ron Weasley
Maurelle took up Ron's offer and sent a reply, "Please be careful, Errol" she gave him a treat before he left.
She started to pack her belongings and her owl. She left a note for Augustana since she hasn't been home for a few weeks. She told Maurelle that she had a job to do but didn't say when she will be back.
Maurelle figured out how to apparate throughout the rest of her summer. She did it every now and then with the help of Ava and Augustana. They showed her how to use the back ways like how her mother used to do it. They knew that they wouldn't be there for her all the time and thought it would be right to teach her a reliable source of transportation. Since Ava was still working with the Ministry, she was able to give Maurelle permission to use her wand, but after that she had to do certain spells without it to avoid getting caught for underage magic usage.
When Maurelle finished packing, it was past sunrise and she apparated out of the house to the Weasley's. When she arrived, she appeared right outside their doorstep. The door was slightly open, so she knocked on it before making an entrance.
"Hello, boys" Maurelle smiled.
The boys' eyes lit up as they saw her. They all got up from the kitchen table and ran up to her. Hugging her tightly. Fred, George, Ron, and Harry were around her. After they released her from their grip, Ron's mother, Molly, came to greet her.
"Oh Maurelle! How wonderful! I am so glad you can make it." She hugged her, "Fred! George! Help Maurelle take her belongings to her room."
"Yes, mum." Both said.
"Happy Birthday, Harry!!" Maurelle said.
"Thanks, Maurelle." Harry said.
"So, how are they treating you over there?" Maurelle said.
"Well, I got a bigger room, but they did put bars on my windows." Harry said.
"Yeah, but we ripped them off." Ron said, "I don't know how you guys could live in that place."
