There is nothing like standing in front of the man that ruined your life. Not to mention the five hundred soldiers he brought along with him. Wayne Nettle is a force to be reckoned with. I was skilled when I took his bounty and he destroyed me without breaking a sweat. I was skilled when I trained his army. He almost broke me. I may have not been made by a pure blooded vampire but I am better than he is. I am the daughter of a teenage father. I am an Asian that was raised as an American. I am a survivor of abuse. I am a killer. I am a hero but I am also a villian. I am a lover. I am a queen. I am a vessel. He wasn't scared then but he should be now. He is the tropical storm but I am the hurricane.
"Wayne Nettle you are in violation of numerous vampire laws. If you choose to participate in this battle you won't face jail time. You will face death." Malkai boomed.
"Malkia Christiansen, it's been over a century since I last saw you. How is your father?" Wayne asked casually.
"Dead." Malkai said simply.
"So, if I kill you I can take the throne and the demon?" Wayne asked with a sinister smile on his face. A hiss escaped through my gritted teeth. Why do people keep talking about me like I'm an object instead of a person? Malkai said nothing. Everyone is at a stand still. What are we waiting for? the witch? I've dealt with her before and she hides in the shadows. We won't see her unless she wants us to but she will show her hand first. It would be too easy for them to win this war if she controlled all of us.
I watch as the thick black smog slowly works its way through their soldiers feet. Every imperfection their soldiers may have had is now gone. This little spell she has created is dark magic. It makes you who she wants you to be. Hikaru slowly sinks to the ground. A few words escape his lips and thick white exhaust appears. First making its way through our front line and then it receded backwards. It's our protection. Light balances dark.
Someone has to do it. Someone has to end the standoff. Both sides have been sizing each other up for too long. I snatch a spear from a soldier behind me. I feel the weight of the weapon in my hand. Once I know I have a good grip on it I send it soaring through the air. At first everyone was stunned and then all hell broke loose. The pack soldiers charged forward with a battle cry. Our group split. Hikaru went one on one with Magdalene. Maddox's kicks joined the soldiers to fight off the vampire army. Maddox joined us to face off with Nettle.
Nettle made the first move. He lunged for Maddox but was quickly grabbed by Malkai. Nettle slammed his elbow into Malkai's stomach. Malkai let him go with a groan. Maddox jumped on his back snapping his neck but it wasn't enough. You have to remove the head or put a stake through their heart. Before he could do anything else Nettle recovered. Maddox is sent flying backwards. I hear his body hit the ground with an audible thud. Rage courses through my veins. Maddox didn't deserve that. This pack doesn't deserve this. Malkai doesn't deserve this. I don't deserve this. My fists are balled up at my sides. Enough is enough. I slam my fist into the ground. It shakes and cracks. I look at Malkai and jerk my head towards Maddox. I won't let them hurt him. He gives a sharp nod and disappears.
"What do you think this is going to accomplish you brat? "Nettle yelled.
"Enough is enough." I yell. I let the rage guide me. I watch fire appear within the faults. It's small at first. It needs to be bigger. I grit my teeth and willed it to be bigger. He can't escape. When I look up at Nettle he is laughing. Nothing about this is funny. Why? Why? Why? The small fire became a blazing inferno. He's Not laughing anymore. His screams are music to my ears. It's a perfect symphony. Nothing is better than this feeling. Wayne Nettles reign of terror is now over.
Could I cleanse the world of all of this evil? I have the power. I could make the world a better place. No one would have to be scared anymore. They wouldn't have to experience and suffer through things like I went through. I could... I could.. Images of my life started flashing through my head. My thoughts started bouncing around. Nothing makes sense.
"Nora it's over." A beautiful baritone voice cautiously said.
"You can relax. We won." It whispered.
"Kiraku ni shite kudasai. You can relax." It said, Despite the sweet words the voice said my body was pulled tight. There are threats everywhere. How can I relax?
"Nora, I told you I wouldn't live without you. but I will keep my promise. I won't let you hurt anyone else. You're finished." It said,
All I could feel was agony. I was drenched in pain. The light within me that was once bright has been snuffed out. It all is over and I can finally be at peace.
