Watching Edgar Bleau turn to ash was truly a sight to behold. I wasn't alive when the demons roamed the earth. So, the only thing I have seen that was remotely close to this was the sun. Vampires turn to dust as quick as the snap of your fingers in sunlight. The demon's power operates on strong emotions like rage, anger and resentment. The key to wielding his power is to know without a shadow of a doubt that the person you're using them on deserves death. Edgar Bleau deserved death. Nora looked at me with a wicked grin on her face. Her eyes are once again coal black. Power comes with a cost and hers is blood lust. She needs to feed before our next battle.

"What is our blood supply looking like?" I asked Maddox as we climbed the stairs to exit the jail.

"There are about fifteen units left for your consumption." He said jokingly.

"Perfect. She is going to need to feed before the others get here." I said, walking Nora towards the house. The second our feet cross the threshold a long whine escapes her lips. His powers eat up so much of her energy it's concerning. She would never forgive herself if she started attacking people fighting on our side but what if she attacked our enemies?

"I have an idea." I said, handing Nora the first bag. She tears the bag open and drinks greedily. Her eyes meet mine and she makes an out with it motion with her fingers.

"The more power you use the more blood you need right?" I said. She nodded slowly, tearing open a second bag.

"We're going to need all the power that we can get to end this. Are you opposed to drinking the enemy soldiers' blood? I know you've done it before but you weren't yourself." I explained but she just blinked at me. Is she not following or? Her blank stares and limited answers are confusing me but I'm not going to push it. She's recovering well all things considered.

"Vampire blood is disgusting but I don't want to hurt anyone else." She said her brows furrowing.

"Will it work?" I ask.

"Yeah but it won't be as effective as human or animal blood. They are sustenance but vampire blood is like speed. You feel good and then the high wears off in like an hour. It would be a short term fix but I want them dead. The real question is are you prepared to kill me if I lose control?" She asks and I can't help but to bark out a laugh. She has to be joking but when I look at her face I see nothing but a blank empty stare.

"We will all be with you fighting this guy. It won't come to that." I said confidently.

"That's not what I asked Malkai." She said somberly.

"I won't kill you." I said, wiping all amusement from my face.

"Malkai." She sighed.

"I waited two centuries for you. I won't live without you and don't ask me too." I said squatting down in front of her. I look up at her hoping she will say something, anything hoping she will understand where I am coming from.

"I won't let you hurt anyone. Maddox won't let you hurt anyone. Hikaru wont let you hurt anyone. Kostchtchie adores you. He won't let you hurt anyone that doesn't deserve it. They are threatening his life. Your life. Our life. The deal he made with you ensured something along those lines didn't it?" I asked, glancing at the seal on her palm. Her eyes glazed over. It's like she's searching through her brain to find the right answer.

"I think so." She offered me a weak smile.

"I know he is taking his powers back after the threat is gone. I'm really hoping he will let you keep the teeth." I said gently pulling down her bottom lip. Giving me a glimpse of the jagged perfection.

"Why do you like them so much?" She asked. Her eyes glittering with amusement.

"I mean think about it. Werewolves like to scent each other in both forms. Their bites contain some type of ink that marks their mates with the males crest. If they ever need comfort or power they lean into each other and breathe in the scent that's embedded into  the mark. Vampires drink from their mates. They drink from each other to share power, strength and pleasure. Wolves have scents, vampires have teeth." I explained.

"He will do almost anything for a price." She said grinning.

"Maybe we can work something out." I said smiling.

"If you can save her. I'll leave her appearance as it is." A deep haunting voice said. I look at Nora and see that both eyes are black. When I blinked it was just one. I mean we all know he is in there but holy vampire gods it's creepy when he does that. When his words finally hit me I can't help but grimace. He must know how all of this is going to end. I won't let anyone hurt her. I won't kill her but I can save her from herself.

"It's time." Nora said with a dark expression.

"It's time to end this once and for all." I said pulling her out the door.
