Blair's POV

The next morning, I was just sleeping peacefully in my hammock, which was next to Chuck and Thomas, and I woke up to someone putting their hand on my mouth. I instantly woke up, and saw Alby. Thomas was awake as well, looking as scared as hell. He was sitting in his hammock, rubbing his eyes, putting on his boots. "Blair, come with me and Thomas." Alby whispered. I stared at him, expecting an explanation. He just walked ahead. I sighed and sat on the edge of the hammock and put on my boots as well. Thomas and I walked towards Alby in silence , till Thomas asked, "You don't remember anything either, do you Blair?" I looked at him, and he was staring at me with his hazel eyes. He looked curious. We stopped walking. I shook my head, "No." He looked towards Alby who was standing by the cement wall. "I... I remember a voice." He said. That got my attention. "What?" He looked back down at me; I was short.

"I remember a voice. A girl's voice." Should I tell him about Newt? If he was telling me about the voice that he remembered then, maybe I should tell him about Newt.

"I remember a voice too." He took a step closer.

"Really?"

"Yes. Only, I know who the voice belonged too." His eyes widened.

"Who?"

"Newt." At first he looked disappointed. But then his face brightened. "What was he saying?"

I opened my mouth to tell him, but Alby interrupted me. "Guys! Come on, chop chop." Me and Thomas exchanged looks, and he said, "Can you meet me later, in the woods? So we can talk more about this. Maybe we can share information and  try to figure out who put us here." I hesitated. Meeting a boy in the woods, alone. But Thomas seemed different. Like he really did just care about getting information. I nodded, and we walked to Alby. He handed me a knife. "Blair, your just gonna carve your name into the wall there." I looked towards the wall. There were names on there some crossed out and some not. "What happened to them?" Thomas asked. "Dark days." Alby answered. Then smiled. Me and Thomas burst out laughing. I guess it wasn't going to be that bad here. If I just stuck around the right boys, then I'll be safe. Like Thomas and Alby. Maybe Gally. If he would stop flirting with me. And... and Newt. I just knew we had a connection. There's no way, my mind could've just made up those voices. I brought my hand down from the wall. Blair. I handed the knife to Thomas and our hands touched. His fingers were warm. I let go, he had his whole grip into the handle.

Later...

I was in the gardens with Newt and Thomas and another boy named Zart. We were working. "Has anyone ever tried climbing to the top?" Thomas asked Newt.

"No, we already tried that. The ivy doesn't go all the way to the top."

"Okay, well how about the box? Next time it comes up-" Thomas got interrupted by Newt.

"No, we already tried that! Twice. Alright? Everything you can think of we've already tried." Newt came around the garden. "Now, if you want to be helpful, go fetch us some fertilizer." He threw the fertilizer basket at Thomas. He caught it.

"No, I'll go get it." I said. They both looked at me, like they've forgotten I was there. "I'll go get it." I said again. Newt just stared at me, annoyed. "Fine, go." He said and turned away. Thomas handed me the basket. "Thanks." He said. I nodded and smiled, and turned to head into the woods. I looked back as I was in front of the forest. Newt was staring at me, expressionless. But as he caught my gaze, he looked away. I sighed and headed in to the woods.

"Blair, go get the fertilizer. You don't need to worry about anything right now. Just go get the fertilizer." I told myself. I dropped the basket and shovel and wondered. I'll get it later, I thought. I heard flies buzzing. Something under my feet crunched. I looked and saw it was a hand. A bone. I gagged and walked further. I saw a hedge of wood. I came closer and it had a name carved into the wood. George. I saw this name on the wall, earlier, but it was crossed out. This is a grave. I thought. My hand covered my mouth. There was remains everywhere. Bones scattered everywhere. I gasped. I turned around to leave. And there was Ben. He was a runner, Gally told me. "Hi, you're Ben right?" I said. He just huffed and grunted. "Are you alright?" Then he sprung at me. He pushed me onto the bones; one digging into my back. I screamed but it was not loud, he was crushing my rib cage. "You did this!" He grunted. I tried to push him off me. But his fingers dug into my wrist. I screamed, but it was still muffled. I started crying. This is the end. I thought. "I didn't do anything!" I sobbed. His hand went to my throat and he started choking me. I couldn't breath. And my sobs were not helping. My arm stretched out trying to find anything. I grabbed hold of a skull- and smacked it hard against Ben's head. He fell off me, and I got up and ran. My back was warm and stinging. And my wrist throbbed. I looked behind me. Ben was behind me. And catching up fast. Of course he was, he was a runner. I looked ahead and the glade was still a little far. So, "NEWT!" I screamed. "HELP!" I don't know why I screamed Newt's name. Then I heard someone scream my name. "BLAIR!" It was Newt. I finally reached the clearing, without Ben attacking me. "NEWT!" I said and fell with Ben on top of me. "BLAIR!" I heard Newt scream again. Ben than punched my face and everything went black.

Thomas's POV

I watched as Blair got punched in the face and her eyes closed. Me and Newt ran to them, side- by- side. "Hey!" Newt yelled and Ben looked up and Newt hit him across the temple with his hoe. Ben fell off Blair and groaned. The rest of the boys came, "Pin him down!" Newt said. "Ben what are you doing?" Ben just kept grunting and struggling. Then he caught my eye. His face grew angrier and scarier. "You did this!" He yelled at me.

"Calm down, Ben." Gally told him. Alby came and looked at Ben. Ben than had a horrified look on his face.

"No, please," Ben begged.

"Alright lift his shirt." Alby ordered and knelt down beside Ben. They did, and there what looked like to be some sort of stung. It was deep and huge and around it his veins were very noticeably black. I cringed in disgust.

"He's been stung." Gally declared. "In the middle of the day?" Gally asked Newt and Alby. Ben whimpered. "No, please, please. Nooo," Alby stood up and stared at Ben with pity and grief.

"Okay, put him in the pit." Ben looked horrified. And horrifying.

"NO! PLEASE NO!" He yelled

"Med- jacks!" Newt called. They came running and the boys carried him to the pit. I heard him till I decided not to listen anymore. The rest of the gladers went back to their job besides me and Chuck. I stood frozen for a second. Too shocked. Till I heard Chuck say, "Oh, her eye." Behind me. I turned and saw Blair still lying on the ground. I walked to her, instantly. I kneeled beside her. "I gotta get her to the med-jacks hut." I said and put my arms under her, and lifted. She wasn't heavy. I would say she was about at least 115 pounds.

(This is not over weight or under weight. I googled it for 16 yr olds cuz shes 16 and shes 5:4 so its normal for her age and height. and even it is alittle under weight. rememeber, shes been in wicked and tested and shit.)

I carried her to the hut, and gently layed her down onto the cot. And with one last look, I left.
