Thomas's POV
I couldn't sit still. Hearing Blair's scream, I knew I had to get out of here and get to her. I had tried shaking the door to the pit. I had punched the wood of the cage till my fists were bloody. It had been no use, since she was probably fine, but I still couldn't relax. Then I heard footsteps in the grass and harsh breath. I squinted into the darkness. Chuck came into view as he got closer. "Chuck! What's going on? Is Blair okay?" He got onto his knees and quickly unlocked the gate. I jumped out and turned to him. "Whats-"
"Blair's in the Maze. Newt and Gally and Teresa are trying to climb the ivy to get to the top and into it and get her out." I went rigid. It was a lot to take in. Newt had said that the ivy doesn't go all the way to the top. I turned to Chuck. "Take me to them."
Newt's POV
"NEWT!" Teresa yelled as I jumped. I grabbed hold of a vine, but slipped. I slid down a little ways but grabbed another vine. And I squeezed it. I stopped falling and climbed up. "Oh my god, you did it." Gally said. I ignored him and continued to climb. A minute later I heard them grunting and the vines under me shook. I looked to see they were on the same vine as me. I also saw something else.
Chuck and Thomas were under us on the ground, running to us. "Thomas?" I called. They approached the wall and Thomas started to climb. Gally looked down. "Oh, get the shuck off, crank." Gally growled. Thomas looked at him expressionless, but kept climbing. Gally's face turned red. "Get. Off." This time Thomas stopped. He didn't look scared, but annoyed and angry. "Why? I am going to go and help you. You are going to need help." Thomas replied. Gally turned to look down at him and Thomas continued to climb. "You're just going to hold us back." Thomas was now at the top of the first vine, we had climbed. Then he swung himself and got onto the vine we were on.
"Well, I'm a runner, so I could probably run faster than you and not to brag, but I survived a night in the Maze one of the first days I got here." Thomas said and climbed past Gally. Gally never took his glare off of Thomas. He came up beside me and he stopped. "Newt, we gotta find her and the only way we're gonna do that is get all the help we need." He said. I wasn't gonna think twice about letting him come. I nodded and we all continued to climb.
As we got to the top, Thomas ran along to the edge of the top and gasped. I came to where he was and so did the others and I as well gasped. Blair was lying on the ground, blood spread around her body. My heart stopped, completely. And then there was a screech. The griever was above her, readying itself to jump down to her.
Then a knife was thrown through the air. It stabbed itself into the side of the griever and the griever hit the wall and screeched. Gally and Thomas ran to it. I stood frozen. "Newt, we have to get to her," Teresa said beside me. Blair's body was still motionless on the ground. I numbly nodded, though I knew we were too late. One side of her body was soaked with her blood. A second later me and Teresa were climbing down the vines to Blair's body.
We ran to her, while Thomas and Gally were running the exact opposite direction of us the griever following them. "THOMAS!" Teresa cried, but they turned a corner. "Bloody hell," I said. How were they planning on killing it? I turned back to Blair and sat beside her and put her head into my lap. Her head was warm with blood. Teresa sat beside her and placed her hand on her leg. "She's cut here," She said. My eyes trailed down to her thigh and I saw a thick deep long cut in her thigh, through her black jeans.
My stomach knotted in fear and disgust. Teresa gripped her shirt and ripped some of the material. Then she wrapped it around Blair's thigh, over the cut. "We have to have it tight and with pressure." She made a diamond shape with her hands and pressed it on Blair's thigh. Blair's eyes threw wide open and she groaned. "Blair? Are you okay?" I asked. She looked around, as if she were blind, then her eyes landed on me.
She mouthed the words. Newt. Then she coughed up blood. It spit onto my shirt and I looked at it, disgusted. "Newt," Teresa said. Blair had fallen back onto my lap, but this time I could see the wounds on her. She was bleeding on the side of her head. And there was a thin shard of metal sticking out of her chest. I reached my hand out quickly to take it out, but Teresa stopped me. "No, don't we have to keep it in her."
"What? She's stabbed in case you don't see that, Teresa-" She was shaking her head.
"I know, Newt, but if we take it out it'll cause more damage and she'll bleed more. The knife's what's keeping her in place, for the moment." I just stood frozen. "The doors- we should stay near them." Teresa said and stood up. "Okay, Newt we're gonna have to carry her to them." I nodded and gently lifted her head off my lap and stood up. I bent over and hooked my arms under her armpits. Teresa grabbed Blair's legs.
"Okay, on three. One... two... three." We lifted her up off the ground. She was extremely light and that brought back memories from when she had brought up her weight. I had told her she was skinny and perfect. But I had been a little worried about how skinny she was. But then again, everyone's body was different. We continued to carry her, but stopped when we heard a screech. Thomas and Gally. I had completely forgotten about them. Me and Teresa stared at each other as the screech echoed through the Maze. Then I heard yelling and footsteps on cement. I turned my head and saw Thomas and Gally running toward us. A griever was behind them. Then I heard the Maze groaning. And I saw a wall changing. But the problem was that Thomas and Gally were behind the moving wall. "Run, Thomas!" Teresa yelled.
Thomas and Gally were slowing down. They were red, sweaty and panting. "You can make it!" I yelled. Suddenly the griever stopped and readyed itself to pounce. Oh, no. They weren't gonna make it. Blair started squirming. I looked down and saw Blair trying to get out of my arms and stand up. But she was too weak. More blood drooled out of her mouth. I held her up. "Run!" Thomas yelled. Me and Teresa looked at each other and ran sideways. Blair's eyebrows furrowed and she coughed again. She was bobbing up and down. The griever behind Gally and Thomas jumped. It landed right behind Gally and Thomas and made them stumble. "Shit!" Thomas yelled. They quickly got up and continued to run. The griever screeched.
My heart was pounding in my ears. My lungs were about to burst. But I ran and ran. Because if I didn't, Blair would die. Then, suddenly, I heard the griever screech but got cut off and heard a crushing noise and splatters. Me and Teresa stopped and turned. The griever had been squished between the moving wall. Gally and Thomas were on their knees, panting and coughing. Thomas then looked up and paled. Horror crossed his face. He stumbled up and ran to us. He was never taking his eyes off of Blair. "Shit." He muttered. "Newt, let me take her, I can carry her in my arms and we'll run to the doors." He looked at me. I looked down at poor Blair. I honestly didn't really want her in Thomas's arms, but he can run longer and faster than me. And he was probably stronger than me. I nodded and let go of her arms and so did Teresa. We laid her gently on the ground, where Thomas scooped her up. Gally came over with a clearly pissed off expression but didn't say anything. And then we ran.

The Maze Runner (my version)
Science Fiction(COMPLETED!) This book is based on the movie. Not the book. In the world of the Maze Runner, you come up in the box with Thomas. That is the only difference in here. And you are the main character. So technically you are Thomas, like in James Dashne...
