Thomas's POV
Minho had wanted to show me something in the woods, and so far, I had never went this way before. Not with Blair. "Hey, where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see." He answered. Oh my god, no shit. I thought. We continued to walk, until a circular hut came into view. We approached it and Minho opened the door. The first thing I saw, was a wide, round thing in the middle, covered with a white sheet. Then on wooden boards on the wall were numbers. Everywhere. In patterns that didn't even make sense. Then Minho pulled the sheet off of the round thing and uncovered, a mini version of the Maze. Of everything in the Maze. From the Glade, to these wide walls, that didn't even look like a Maze. "It's the Maze." Minho said. "All of it." I was confused. All of it? Wouldn't that mean they would've found a way out by now? "What do you mean, 'all of it?' I thought you were still mapping it." I said. Minho looked at me, from across the table. "There's nothing left to map." He stated, sadly. "I've run every inch of it myself." I looked at the tiny Maze. Scoping it, hoping he missed a spot and that was the way out. But there was nothing. "Every cycle, every pattern." He spoke. "If there was a way out, we would've found it by now." I just shook my head, slowly, trying not to believe it.
"Why haven't you told anyone this?" I asked, hoarsely. We stared at each other for a moment then he got up from leaning on the table. "It was Alby's call." He answered. "People needed to believe we had a chance of getting out." I nodded, understanding, as he came around to stand by me. "But, maybe now," He said suddenly. "We have a real chance." He handed me the metal contraption and I stood up to take it. He sighed. "Take a look at this." He said and pointed to the wide walls on the map. "About a year ago we started exploring these outer sections. We found these number's, printed on the walls." There were rocks with numbers outside of the Maze, but near the wide walls, dividing it. "Sections 1 through 8." He explained. He turned to me. "See the way it works, is every night, when the Maze changes... it opens up a new section." I tried to catch on to what he was saying but it didn't really make sense. "So today, section 6 was open. Tomorrow it will be 4, then 8, then 3. The pattern always stays the same." I suddenly understood what he was saying. I looked at the contraption. In big red letters, there was a 7. "What's so special about seven?" I asked. He stood up.
"I don't know" He said and walked around the table again. "But last night when you killed that griever, section 7 was open. I think it must be where it comes from." He said and looked at me. He seemed enthusiastic. "Tomorrow you and I are gonna take a closer look." He said. I nodded, eager to get back in the Maze. Suddenly, we heard footsteps and we turned around to the open door, and came Jeff and Clint, out of breath. "Hey!" Minho said. "What are you guys doing? You're not allowed in here." We both stood in front of the Maze.
Jeff answered. "Sorry, it's just the, ummm..."
"It's the girl." Clint finished. That got my attention.
"Is she awake?" I asked, curious. Jeff and Clint exchanged looks.
"You could say that." Jeff said.
"Chuck whats going on?" I asked as me and Minho ran out of the woods. He was laughing. He pointed. "Girl's are awesome." He giggled. We looked to where he was pointing, and saw stuff falling from the tree tower. The rest of the gladers were under it, holding up boards, to shield themselves from the falling- food. "Leave me alone!" I heard a voice say. A girl's voice. The girl. Me and Minho ran over. "Hey! Throw one more of those things... OW!" Gally said.
"Go away!" She was saying.
"We come in peace!" Frypan called up.
"What happened?" I asked Gally.
"Just duck!" He told me.
"I don't think she likes us very much." Newt said, who was hiding under a board with Winston.
"What do you want from me?!" The girl asked.
"We just wanna talk!" I called.
"I'm warning you!" She said. She threw more tomatoes on us.
"Take cover, y'all, take cover!" Frypan said. And then she started throwing potatoes.
"Whoa! Hey, hey, hey, it's Thomas! It's Thomas!" I said. Suddenly the falling food stopped. We all looked up. She looked down. We locked eyes. "I'm gonna come up, okay?" I said. And then she pulled away, quickly. "Okay." I said, a bit unsure. "Just me." Gally's head turned sharply to look at me, but I was already walking to the ladder. "I'm coming up." I started to climb the ladder.
As I got to the top, I lifted the lid of the roof and poked my head out. The girl was in the corner, holding a long knife out, towards me. "Whoa, whoa, whoa." I backed away. "Okay, just... easy alright?" I held my hand out. Her piercing blue eyes, starred back at me.
"Where am I?" She asked. "What is this place?" I slowly got out of the ladder hatch. The knife followed my every move. "Why can't I remember anything?" I shushed her, gently.
"This is normal, okay? We've all been through this." I said, assuring her. "Okay? You're name, that'll come back to you in a couple of days. It's the one thing that-"
"Teresa." She interrupted. I was surprised.
"What did you say?" I asked, confused.
"My name, it's Teresa." She narrowed her eyes at me, annoyed.
"Teresa, I'm Thomas." I said. "But, you already knew that though, I guess, huh?"
"They said, I kept saying your name in my sleep." She looked away and then back at me, curiously. "Who are you?" I was taken aback. She knew my name, but didn't know me. Like Blair and Newt. "And they also said, I was saying another name, Blair? Who is that?" I remembered, she said that in the box. I cleared my throat. It hurt to think of her. "That's... she's my... Blair was the first girl here." She looked confused.
"First? What-is she dead?" She said, disappointed. The knife drooped.
"No. She- she's alive. And well. And here." I reached out and slowly wrapped my hand around the knife and she let me take it. "Okay." I sighed.
"Where's the girl, Blair? I want to see her." Teresa said. I sighed again, though this one from hurt than relief.

The Maze Runner (my version)
Science Fiction(COMPLETED!) This book is based on the movie. Not the book. In the world of the Maze Runner, you come up in the box with Thomas. That is the only difference in here. And you are the main character. So technically you are Thomas, like in James Dashne...
