Blair's POV
We ran and ran, Thomas and Minho leading the way. My lungs were about to burst. I was scared and guilty. I had left Gally. I was probably never gonna see him again. I didn't know how I felt about him though. I liked him, I guess, but I didn't love him. I guess I've never loved anyone before. Not even Thomas.
"Everyboy, this way!" Thomas said. I could hear everybody panting. Then we came into this sort of clearing. The walls were more far apart and the space was wider. We must've been getting close. "Keep it up, guys, we're almost there!" Thomas called back.
I was getting farther back more, cause I was tired. Then Newt was beside me. "I'm glad you decided to come with us, Blair." He panted. I just nodded and smiled slightly. I was too. But not. Newt was laying back too. Then I noticed he was running weirdly. He was sort of galloping.
Then we came to a wall, leading to a hall. We backed up against it. Thomas looked down the hall. He slowly pulled back, pale. "Is it a griever?" Chuck asked.
"Yeah." My heart sank.
"Shit." Chuck whispered.
Minho held out a contraption to Chuck. It was the thing they got from the griever they killed. "You take this, Chuck. Stay behind us." Minho ordered. Teresa then tied her hair up.
"It's okay. Just stick with me." She told Chuck. Thomas looked towards me, reached out, grabbed my arm and pulled me closer. "Stay behind, as well, Blair. Please." He said. I nodded and swallowed. "Once we're through, it'll activate and the door will open." Thomas said to the group. "All right? We stay close, we stick together... we get through this. We get out now... or we die trying." He gave everyone a stern look. "Ready?" He hit the ground with the spear. Everyone jumped and grabbed their weapons. I was empty handed. Newt saw and handed me one of his knives. I took it and gripped it hard. This just might save my life.
"All right. LET'S GO!" Thomas yelled and we turned and ran down the hall. It was sort of like a cavern and one long bridge/hallway. And the griever was at the end of it. Everyone yelled and charged. It screeched and ran towards us. The boys in the front stuck out their spears and we pushed it. It dodged the spears and gave us a way through. It was now behind us. "Get up! Look out!" Minho cried. My heart was beating fast. It was difficult to breathe. They speared it and pushed it back. "Push it!" Thomas yelled. The griever roared and whipped its tail out. Everyone ducked. And then it grabbed a boy. "No!" He yelled. The griever threw the boy and he fell over the ledge. I covered my mouth. That boy had just died.
The griever roared again and stabbed out one of its legs. It missed Teresa by an inch. She eyed it, and hit it with her knife, which also knocked the contraption that Chuck was holding, out of his hand. It flew over to the ledge.
"The key!" Chuck yelled and ran after it. Just then, the griever sort of hissed and stabbed out its legs again. It grabbed my backpack and flung me. I screamed and went flying through the air. I was gonna fall down the ledge just as that boy. "Blair!" The boys cried. I landed hard. I couldn't breathe. I had gotten the breath knocked out of me. I was seeing stars. My back ached.
Then someone was beside me. Newt. "Blair, are you alright?" I just stared at him, trying to suck in some air. I gasped and gasped. The ground beneath me shook. Then I was being lifted. Newt was holding me up. I still couldn't breathe. I felt like I was gonna die. Newt carried me past the griever and around the boys.
I finally gulped some air and my heart slowed. "Blair, you alright?" He asked, as he set me down. I nodded. "Yeah," I stood up and he went to help the boys. Then, I noticed Chuck leaning over the edge, about to fall. Teresa was running to him. I got up and ran to help. I got on my knees just as Teresa came and grabbed his legs. I peeked over the edge and saw a second griever climbing up. "Oh no." Chuck said.
"I got you Chuck!" Teresa said. I grabbed his bag and pulled.
"Pull me up!" We pulled him over the edge and swiftly stood up. The griever was still coming up. "Shit!" I muttered. Teresa looked at me and followed my gaze. Her face paled and she grabbed Chuck's arm.
The griever the boys were fighting was screeching and becoming more aggressive. But they speared it and pushed it. It fell over the edge. All the boys jumped, but the second griever was on its way. Relief still flooded me. They just had to fight one more. Then the griever came up. I screamed and ran with Teresa and Chuck. "Come on!" Teresa yelled. Then, suddenly, another one came up on the other side. "Thomas! Thomas!" Chuck screamed. The grievers were chasing us. The boys turned to look. "Chuck?" Thomas asked.
"We got more coming!" Minoh yelled, just as me, Teresa and Chuck, ran past the boys. We ran to the wall, and heard a beeping noise. Then suddenly the wall started lifting up "It worked!" Chuck exclaimed. The wall lifted and Teresa and Chuck went in. I looked back at the struggling boys. Thomas saw and yelled, "Blair, go!" I turned and ran. There was a large hole in the wall, a tunnel. I went in as Chuck and Teresa did. I watched as the grievers pushed the boys more into the opened wall.
I ran down the tunnel, where there was a dead end. Teresa and Chuck were hitting the wall and searching for any opening. "There's gotta be a way out! Come on!" Teresa grunted in frustration. I turned around in panic, to the boys again. A boy had fallen and a griever grabbed him and threw him. I whimpered in fear. The grievers roared.
"It won't open!" Chuck said, behind me. I turned around and the small hole in the wall, glowed. It was a red screen and had numbers on it. Teresa looked back at me. I nodded and turned to the boys. "Thomas! There's a code!"
"Eight numbers!" Teresa called. Thomas looked back. My heart stuttered. The griever could grab him any second. But the griever pounced and Thomas turned and speared it. "Eight sections of the Maze." He said. "Hey, Minho!" He yelled and speared the mouth of the griever.
"What?!" Minho cried back.
"What's the sequence?!" Thomas asked.
"What?!" Minho sounded confused.
"The sections of the Maze, what's the sequence?!" Thomas cried again.
"Seven! One!" I turned around.
"Are you getting that?!" I called to Teresa.
"Yeah!"
"Five! Two! Six! Four!" Minho continued.
"Heads up!" Newt suddenly yelled. I watched as everyone's head turned upwards. Everyone backed up. A griever then landed on Minho. "Minho!" Newt screamed. Minho held a spear into the griever's mouth. "Get off me!" He yelled. Then suddenly, Jeff came forward and stabbed the griever in the head. The griever screeched and whipped its head around. Then it wrapped its mouth around Jeff's waist. He screamed as blood squirted. "Jeff!" Winston screamed. Then he got carried away. The other two grievers came forward. "Minho, what's the sequence? Come on!" Chuck yelled, panicked.
"Uhhh, Six! Four! Eight! Three! You got it?!" Minho called. I ran back to Teresa and Chuck. The boys were getting forced into the tunnel. Then suddenly, the screen turned green and in big letters, said, 'Completed.'
"The door opened!" A boy called. I ran to the boys and watched as the walls, that had lifted up were now going back down. But the grievers were running down the hall. Thomas threw a spear, through the air and it hit a griever, sending him back and the wall's slammed onto the grievers, squishing them dead.
And then everything turned black. Everyone screamed in fear. Then, a metal sound rang and the door that had the screen, opened.

The Maze Runner (my version)
Science Fiction(COMPLETED!) This book is based on the movie. Not the book. In the world of the Maze Runner, you come up in the box with Thomas. That is the only difference in here. And you are the main character. So technically you are Thomas, like in James Dashne...
