Blair's POV
I opened my eye's. I was lying on cold cement flooring. The side of my head hurt. I touched it lightly and winced. It hurt. And my fingers came away red. I sighed and sat up. And saw walls. Tall walls. I looked around me. There were walls everywhere. The Maze was dark. I wasn't scared. It was a little creepy but I didn't see or hear anything.
I wondered who those guys were. How did they even put me in the Maze? I stood up, slowly. One of my shoes were missing. "Great," I muttered, when suddenly, a screech rang through the Maze. I froze and looked around me. My breathing increased. Okay, I was scared now. If only one person could make it one night in the Maze out of three years, my chances were low. I walked away from the noise. I was limping from one shoe. I didn't even know if I was close to any door. If I got close to the main door, then I could go in in the morning. They better come for me. There were vines crawling up the walls. If I climbed one... The ivy doesn't go all the way to the top. The words catch me off guard. Newt had said them to Thomas when he was trying to figure a way out. I gripped a vine and pulled it. It was firm. I jumped up and climbed to the top. It was a little difficult but I managed. The walls were different heights. I walked on the top and turned some corners, until another screech rang through the Maze. I froze and got low. Then I heard my name. "BLAIR!" Newt.
"Oh my god," I muttered. I stood up and checked my surroundings on the bottom. There was nothing in sight. "Newt?" I called.
"BLAIR!" This time it was Gally. It was very quiet and muffled. "BLAIR!" Newt again. I cupped both hands around my mouth and, "NEWT!" I heard it echo. Hopefully nothing would come after me. "BLAIR!" This one was extra loud. I wondered if they even heard me. Where were they? I walked a little more and the yells got louder.
"BLAIR!" I got closer to an extra tall wall.
"Newt!" It was quiet. Maybe they heard me.
"Blair?" This one was not screamed.
"Newt!" I yelled desperately. There was a pressure behind my eyes. Then my vision got blurry. Tears slipped down my face. I was never gonna see him again. A griever could be just around the corner below. "Where are you?!"
I hiccuped and forced myself to stop crying. I had to stay strong and be alert. "OVER HERE!" This time I screamed it. It was quiet for a minute.
"Where are you?!" He called again, finally. I sobbed more. There was no point. I was never gonna see him again. "Blair?!" This one was Gally. "IN THE MAZE!" I screamed. Then I heard another screech, though this one was close. Really close. I crouched and froze. Then the ground under my feet slightly started vibrating. I heard the mechanical footsteps. Then I saw it. It was ugly and horrific. It was a bulbous, dark creature, with many appendages such as spikes, shears, and rods. Drool-like slime was dripping out of its mouth. I held my breath as it slowly passed. I pressed my whole body against the stone under me. It's mouth had teeth going all around it. The steps got quieter and quieter. I sighed harshly and got up. Then something crashed into me. Hard. I cried out and got thrown onto the ground. Then I looked into the eyes of the griever. I screamed and kicked it. One of its appendages stabbed into my thigh. I screamed again. I felt the blood ooze over my leg and drip off. It screeched, seeming like it was enjoying my screams. Its drool dripped onto my neck. I reached out and felt nothing. We were still on the stonehenge. If I could maybe roll and fall... I kicked and kicked the griever. It screeched and I kicked it my hardest and it slightly lifted some of its weight off me. Then I rolled over and fell.
Newt's POV
I heard Blair's hair-lifting scream. My heart raced and heard the grievers screech. Then Blair's scream rang again. But this one was filled with pain. Gally and I shared horrified looks and sprinted towards the vines on the wall. I gripped a thick vine and pulled myself up. "What are you guys doing?" Teresa called under us.
"Were going to go get her." Gally said.
"But the vine doesn't go all the way to the top!" Chuck said. I looked at Gally. He was breathing harshly. I looked down. We were already far from the ground. I meant Chuck's gaze. "We have to try." He knew there wasn't any way we could make that possible. "Then I'm gonna help." Teresa said and dropped her stuff. Gally turned his head and glared at her. "No way," He said. She frowned and furrowed her brow. She put her hands on her hips. "Why not? Just because you're not in love with me, doesn't mean I can't go anywhere with you. And besides I'm not doing this for you, i'm doing this for Blair." I grinned and bit my lip, to stop myself from chuckling. I looked at Chuck and he was smiling as well. She sure put him in his place, I mouthed to him. He nodded. I turned and continued to climb. The vines under me shook and I looked to see Teresa climbing as well. Gally huffed and climbed. As we got closer to the top, I saw that the vines didn't go all the way to the top. I looked towards Chuck, to see he was gone. I looked around the glade, but he was nowhere in sight. I sighed and studied the vines. There were some vines that did reach the top, but they didn't go to the bottom. If we swung ourselves over... I turned to look at Teresa and Gally. "Okay, guys I have a plan. Since the vines we're on don't go to the top, and the ones beside us do, we're gonna have to swing to them." Both of them swiftly turned their heads to me and gave me a look, that was asking if I was crazy. "It's the only way."
"It's a way to get us killed." Gally said. Teresa nodded. Did they not want to save Blair, enough to get their lives risked? I shook my head at them. I couldn't believe them. I looked at the vines beside us and jumped. "NEWT!!"

The Maze Runner (my version)
Science Fiction(COMPLETED!) This book is based on the movie. Not the book. In the world of the Maze Runner, you come up in the box with Thomas. That is the only difference in here. And you are the main character. So technically you are Thomas, like in James Dashne...
