Blair's POV
Gally was standing at the entrance of the room, with a gun in his hand and the key in the other. Thomas walked forward, looking confused. "Gally?" Teresa put her hand out to stop him. She shook her head. "Don't. He's been stung." She said. I realised it now. But Gally with a gun, half out of his mind, was not good. Especially Thomas at the head of the group.
Gally looked angry and he was tear streaked. He dropped the key. He sniffled. "We can't leave." He said. Seeing Gally like this, had me on edge. His hand holding the gun was shaking.
"We did, Gally we're out." Thomas said. "We're free.
"Free?" Gally asked, incredulously. He laughed, but he also was still crying. "You think we're free out there?" He asked. "No. No, there's no escape from this place." He finished and raised the gun and pointed it straight at Thomas. Everyone tensed.
"Gally, listen to me." Thomas said, holding his hand up. "You're not thinking straight. You're not. Now we can help you." Suddenly the pole I was gripping was being pulled away from me. I looked down. Minho was pulling it away from me. I let it go, let him take it. "Just put down the gun." Thomas said.
"I belong to the Maze." Gally sniffled.
"Just put down the gun." Thomas said again, though more gentler.
"We all do." Gally's voice rose. He pulled the trigger. Lots of things happened at once.
"THOMAS!" I screamed.
"Gally!" Thomas screamed.
"NOO!" Teresa and Chuck screamed and Chuck jumped. And Minho threw the spear at Gally. It went straight through his chest, sticking out of his back. I gasped and stumbled. I covered my mouth. Gally was wheezing, gasping. He fell to his knees and dropped the gun. And then fell onto his side. Gally was gone. He was killed in front of me. I felt a burning pressure behind my eyes, but ignored it.
Chuck gasped. "Thomas..." He said. We all looked at him. There was a red spot spreading across his chest. My heart stopped. "Chuck." Thomas said, surprised. Then Chuck groaned and fell, but Thomas caught him and lowered him to the ground. Me and Teresa got on our knees beside them. "Chuck." Thomas said, again, though he sounded close to tears. "Oh, shit. SHIT." Thomas said, trying to cover up the gunshot wound. Chuck was gasping. "Look at me, look at me," Thomas said, rapidly. "Oh shit."
Chuck whimpered. "Chuck, you look at me, alright? I got you buddy. Just hang on." I wished I had anything to stop him from bleeding. I wished I was the one that got shot.
"It's okay." Chuck whimpered. "Thomas, Thomas," Chuck said and grabbed Thomas's shoulder as if to comfort him. He held something in his hand. It was a carving. And it was red. The thing he had wanted to give to his parents. I remembered him showing it to me, the day Teresa had arrived, when we were picking flowers in the field. The pressure in my eyes, increased.
"No, Chuck. You're gonna give it to them, yourself. Remember, I told you that." Thomas said, trying to hold back his tears. Chuck wheezed.
"Take it." He said.
"No." Thomas whispered. Chuck stopped staring at the ceiling and stared at Thomas.
"Thank you." He said. I gasped. Everything was terrible. Chuck didn't have to die. He was still young. "Thank you," He whimpered. He looked back at the ceiling. "Thank you...."
"No, Chuck, you're gonna get-" Chuck suddenly stopped wheezing. And he exhaled. "Chuck?" Thomas asked, gripping the carving. "Chuck? Hey," He grabbed Chuck's shoulders and gently shook him. "Hey," He cupped Chuck's face.
"Hey, Chuck, come on!" Thomas's voice rose. "Come on! Wake up!" He was sobbing now. He rested his face into Chuck's chest. I didn't realise I was crying as well, till I sniffled and wiped my eyes. Teresa gasped and I looked at her. She was crying as well. I looked at all the boys. Newt covered his mouth and his eyes were shiny. Minho's eyes were closed. The rest of the boys just looked shocked. "Dammit! We made it! Come on!" He lifted his head and cupped Chuck's face again. "I'm sorry..." He sobbed. "GOD DAMN IT!"Thomas yelled, when suddenly the door at the end of the hall, came open. Light came pouring down the hall. "Damn it!" Thomas continued to sob. People with masks came running down the hall. "Thomas," I sobbed.
"Chuck!" Thomas screamed. And he continued to scream, telling Chuck to get up, or wake up. The people got to us and I realised they had guns. I swiftly stood up. They shouted at us and told us to go out the door. A person grabbed Thomas off Chuck, but Thomas kept escaping their grip and crawling back to Chuck. But they grabbed Thomas again and he couldn't escape. I turned and ran down the hall with Newt and the rest of the group. "Chuck! You can't just leave him there!" I heard Thomas yell behind me.
We finally reached the end of the hallway and we were now outside, running on sand. It was bright out. I didn't want to run, but they kept telling us to keep running. They guided us to a helicopter and we hopped in. They threw in Thomas and it started to lift off the ground. The guy that came in with us, took off his mask. He looked to be a forty year old man, with a beard. "You guys alright?" He asked us. We just glanced at each other. "Don't worry. You're safe now."
I just gripped the bar on the door, as we flew up, really taking off. Once we were in the air, we all looked out the window, out onto the Maze. It was just a large circle. I could see the Glade and inside the Maze. I looked away, as everyone did. "Relax, kid." The guy told Thomas. "Everything's gonna change."
Meanwhile, somewhere else,
Ava Paige walked around the glass table, seated with people apart of her company. Her heels clicked loudly, as she made her way to the end of it. She dabbed at her 'wound', with a white cloth. She stopped at the end.
"Well," She said. "I think it's safe to say, the Maze trails were a complete success." She said and took off her white jacket. Everything she wore was white. The screens behind her turned on, showing the kids in the helicopter. "I wasn't expecting so many survivors, but... the more the merrier." The camera went on Thomas. He was gripping the carving Chuck had given him. "Thomas continues to surprise and impress. And for now, they seemed to have taken the bait." The screen showed each of the survivors. Teresa, who looked shocked and terrified and sad. Newt, who looked angry and confused and sad. Minho, who looked shocked and confused. Frypan, who looked disappointed and sad. Thomas, who was still crying, looked sad. Just sad.
And Blair. Blair just looked frightened and confused and sad and shocked. A mix of everyone's emotions. Her face was streaked with tears, and her hair was a mess. "Blair, of course was a great idea. She could be the cause of the new generation. I would like to thank, Mr. Dashner, for bringing her to me and suggesting her." Everyone clapped and Mr. Dashner bowed his head.
"It's too soon to say... but they could be the key to everything." She shifted her weight. "So, let's move forward." She stood up straight and glanced around the room. "It's time now to begin- Phase Two."

YOU ARE READING
The Maze Runner (my version)
Science Fiction(COMPLETED!) This book is based on the movie. Not the book. In the world of the Maze Runner, you come up in the box with Thomas. That is the only difference in here. And you are the main character. So technically you are Thomas, like in James Dashne...
