I leaned my head back against the pool chair as I thought about life. The past few days have been tough; having to cope with a new routine and meet new people.
Emilia and I chatted earlier today. I wanted to tell her how I was feeling but I didn't. I just told her bits of how I was feeling. Not exactly how I was feeling and what happened to me to get there.
She had suggested something about a self-care day which I realised I haven't had in a while. Today I promised myself not to do any work and just chill.
Aria promised we'd be able to watch a movie later in the living room along with Xavier and Cameron. She mentioned something about having the night off as there aren't major issues in the mafia right now. Leo, the French mafia boss has been silent since the attack as far as I'm aware.
I don't get told much. Just what has been decided about once they've had their conversations.
For March, the weather was awfully hot. Sitting outside wasn't for the tan as I'm naturally tan already. But it was nice to be out. I've looked around the mansion today noticing an odd few things I had never noticed before.
After a few minutes of relaxation, I made my way into my bedroom to get changed. I pulled on a large grey shirt and wore small black shorts under. My large t-shirt covered my shorts exposing my bare legs. I quickly put my hair up and sit by my window, a book in my hand.
I sat reading my book for what felt like forever until I heard someone gently open my door. My eyes widen in surprise when I realise it's Christian at the door.
I close my book and watch as he makes his way to me. He clears his throat. "Can we talk?"
He sits back by my window, opposite me. He sighs. "I have something to tell you-"
"That you slept with Lydia Spencer after you told me you had business to attend. I know. I heard your little convo with Sebastian yesterday." I cut him off, staring out my window.
He takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I did have business yesterday but my aunt asked me to stay longer and-"
"And so you slept with Lydia, now that you had a chance." I interrupt again. "Look, I don't care that you slept with her, it's the fact that we told each other we'd make this work but you haven't acted nice towards me since that conversation. You're making me second guess my own decisions."
"I don't go around with men because I want to protect your public image along with mine. But are you going out with her? Anyone could have seen. It would have been extremely embarrassing for me. People will say 'Her so-called husband sleeps around.' How do you think that would make me feel?"
He stays silent, his teeth clenched. "I'm tired okay? This shit is not easy for me and I can't imagine how you're feeling. But If this is how it is maybe we should see each other people and be discreet about it. We don't even have to talk to each other or-"
Christian grabs my hand and placed it in his. "No. I don't want that. I'm interested in working with you on this. Trust me. Last night wasn't supposed to happen."
I close my eyes and take a breath. "I- what happened?" I ask.
He caresses my hand. "I was called back and ended up staying longer because everyone was called for drinks. One led to 6 more and more and more and I end up drunk in a horrible state and found myself home with her. Mind you, she was aware I was drunk and she on the other hand..."
My eyes widen. "She took advantage of you in a drunk state!?"
He nods. "Lydia and my aunt planned it. I have my men on their way to set them a warning if this is to happen again. I can't kill my mother's sister and I can't kill someone who is close to the family. Unfortunately."
"I-I'm sorry." I suddenly feel awful for assuming last night's events.
Christian frowns pulling my hands closer to him. "Don't you dare say sorry to me." He grumbles. "From now on, as your husband, I'll make sure to side with you and be careful with every decision I make that might affect you. I'll work on this marriage with you and try to make you feel comfortable."
I smile looking into his eyes. "Thank you. I needed that."
"Of course." He stares around my room. "You read?"
I nod in response. "Is it that obvious?"
He shrugs. "Well you have piles of books by your bedside table and you have a massive poster on your door that says "A library is a hospital for the mind."
I narrow my eyes. "When did you have time to read that?"
"I'm observing. I do that a lot." He stands and makes his way to my door. "Come see me tomorrow, I have something to show you." I nod. "Okay."
He stops in his tracks. "Oh and do not tell Sebastian I apologised and offered kindness- he'll give me shit."
I smirk. "No promises." Christian turns and narrows his eyes.
"It was a joke, Mr Italian."
"Mr Italian?" He furrows his brows at his nickname.
"Yes. Aren't you Italian?"
He scoffs. "So should I call you Ms. Spanish? No. Because that would be weird. Christian is perfectly fine.""See you later Mr. Fontana."
"Goodnight Mrs. Fontana."

Aria moves closer to me, resting her head on my shoulder. Xavier and Cameron sit on the other couch staring at the screen.
After half an hour of arguing about what to watch, we finally decided to go with a romance movie and next time we'll go for horror.
Aria giggles. "Look at them. And they're the ones who were against this movie before."
I laugh along. "Cam looks more interested in the girl's ass but yes I guess you can say that."
Cam turns to me. "You aren't as quiet as you think you are ma'am!"
Xavier stretches his arms as the credits appear on the screen. Cam pulls his phone out of his pocket. "I need to know who this actress is. If she's single she should hit me up."
I roll my eyes. Xavier gets up and sits by the other side of me. "That movie wasn't so bad. Thanks for the recommendation."
Aria crosses her arms. "Actually, it was my idea dipshit. She's taken so stop trying to get with her."
"I'm not trying to get with her. I'm trying to know her. She's the Donna. But I mean if she wants to get with me and ditch boss, I'd be down." He winks.
I mentally cringe at him. "I'm gonna head to bed. Goodnight everyone."
"Goodnight."
