"Questo è urgente. Natale è domani e non voglio ripetere il ringraziamento." I speak into my work phone.
{This is urgent. Christmas is tomorrow and I don't want a repeat of Thanksgiving.}I've spoken to Antonio and Sebastian several times. Tate has been working the whole month to make sure Christmas is great and I don't want any surprise shootings.
It wouldn't be fair to tell my men to stay at my house to guard everything when they should be at home with their families. I've gathered enough men to replace them and they all either don't have families or don't celebrate.
We've only invited immediate family to Christmas this year so no outsiders. Just family, as Tate wanted.
"Spero che tu mi capisca." I cut the phone and place it on my desk and call her using my personal phone.
{I hope you understand me.}"Tate. Are you on your way home?"
"Uh. Yes. I just finished. Aria And I will be back soon."
She and Aria have been off to hundreds of places today and yesterday. They've been donating and handing food out to homeless people. Tate insisted on buying gifts for every single person who works at my hotel and restaurant.
"You should have seen the faces of those little children," Tate speaks excitedly into the phone. "I'll see you in a bit. Love you."
"I love you."
I hear her muffled laughter at my tone. "I love you." She finally replies.
When she ends the call, I stack the papers on my desk and look through the plans.
It must be done. A little voice in my head tells me.
I've gotten this far and it all feels wrong now. It feels like the worst thing in the world. But I want to get to the bottom of this and I won't give up.
I'll move forward with my plan.
