One month later
Sebastian hands me a coffee. "Calm down she only just got out in the room. Once she's in labour you'll be called in. Or earlier. I don't know how this shit works."
Aria and Emilia keep scrolling, looking for baby names like I haven't told them already that we know what we're calling our child. They insisted that they choose the middle name which I've already chosen too. But they don't have to know that.
This is keeping them entertained and less in worry.
Cam and Giovanni make their way to me and Sebastian and take a seat. "She given birth yet? I set the 'welcome home' sign up already." Gio says.
"No," Antonio replies for me, rolling his eyes. "Dumb fuck."
Antonio is annoyed since he made a bet with Giovanni and for the first time in seven years, Gio won Antonio's favourite car.
Giovanni sighs. "I already told you, you have money to buy a hundred more of the car so what's the problem?"
Antonio grumbles something I don't hear as the Doctor walks out of the room. I stand almost immediately when she does. "Can I have the husband of Mrs Tate Fontana?"
I stand and follow the doctor into the hospital room. I take a huge breath of relief when I see Tate sitting on her pregnancy ball.
"So sir. She's okay. She's having mild contractions. Her water has burst but the baby isn't just ready. If the contractions are worse that's when we'll help her give birth. Please ring that bell if anything happens."
Tate groans in pain and takes deep breaths. She holds her belly, squeezing my arm. "Christian I don't like this at all. It hurts."
"I know baby. I'm sorry. Do you want to lie down? Do you want water?"
"No, I'm fine here. I have water already. She's really fussy. And stubborn. I just want her out."
"I know, love."
"If I don't give birth in the next hour can I ask them to pull her out?"
I laugh and rub her back, softly. "No, love. It's not that easy. I promise everything will be just fine."
