Four years later...

"I've been looking for her for the past ten minutes. Where did she go?" Christian says sarcastically.

Christian has been playing hide and seek with Maya and he "can't" find her. I laugh softly and point to the pantry.

He rolls his eyes and plasters a fake smile on his face. "I found you! You're such a great hider!"

Maya giggles and runs to me in the living room, as I hold her brother in my hands.

Emilio Carlos Fontana.

Emilio was born about a month ago. Christian had convinced Maya to ask for a sibling knowing I genuinely can't say no to her.

This pregnancy though was more chill and relaxing than the first and the whole labour process went faster so it wasn't as bad. But if someone asks me to have one more, I will genuinely kill them.

"Can I h-hold him?" Maya asks and I nod carefully placing Emilio into her little arms. She smiles, her dimples showing just like her father. "He's so cute." She gushes.

I nod.

Maya is a little me in personality but looks all go to Christian. They look the same. She only has my nose. Everything about her is Christian. I prayed Emilio would look like me and so far everyone says he does so it's a nice win for me.

I don't think I'd be able to deal with three Christians. The two of them are already a lot of hard work.

"Can we get ice cream? Please." Maya begs.

"You've had a lot of sugar today, sweetheart," Christian tells her and she frowns.

"Please. I'll be good."

I sigh. "Alright. Christian, can you get my car keys?"

"Ha. Cute. You're not driving. And no we need to be quick. Your mom asked us to come over for dinner."

Groaning, I stand from the couch and put warmer wear on for Emilio. "I forgot that was happening." Christian holds onto Emilio while I put Maya's coat on along with mine.

"Look! Mommy! It looks yummy!" Maya points to the bubblegum blue ice cream.

"Is that what you want, baby?"

She nods as Christian orders my regular along with what Maya wants.

"You don't want any?" I furrow my brows as Christian shakes his head no. "Maya won't finish hers she'll hand it to me and I would prefer not to buy myself one just to eat another.

I nod as Maya runs to an empty booth and sits next to Christian.

"Present?" Maya asks and Christian laughs.

"No, principessa."
{princess.}

Ever since we bought Maya a massive doll house that she can actually play in for her fourth birthday, she expects to receive presents every day. She doesn't seem to understand yet what a birthday is but she'll learn.

"Nanny!" Maya screams as he runs into my mother's arms.

My mother chuckles. "Hello, dear."

I sit on the couch and Christian offers to help my dad fix his little car problem in the garage.

"Tate, my love. How are you? Where's Emilio?"

"He's sleeping. He's in his buggy. Do you want me to bring him out?"

"No. Let the child rest. I've got some news for you and I think you'll like it."

"Maya, baby. It's time for bed."

Maya frowns and hides behind Christian. "I'm not tired."

I sigh. "If you want to go out with Aunt Emilia tomorrow, you need to get to sleep so you don't get tired."

Maya nods and races up the stairs. Carlo, who I made sure moved in with us in our new family home follows her up the stairs making sure she's okay.

We moved a few months ago when I found out I was pregnant with our second baby. It was a hard change but I've become used to it. We hired a load of new men to protect this mansion and a load of new guards for the inside to keep it safe for our children. I'm happy that despite the number of men in our home, it feels more homely and private. Just Christian and I. Plus my two beautiful children.

We go and visit our old home often to see our friends or if Christian wants to do business in the area we stay for a few nights. So we don't miss it too much.

Maya is a fast learner and is doing a lot of talking like I do all the time.

When Maya finally falls asleep, I sit up in my bed to breastfeed Emilio so he can get a good night's sleep and hopefully not cry.

Christian walks into our bedroom slowly and looks down at Emilio. "Don't wake me up tonight. Your mother will make me put you back to bed."

I hit him on the arm. "He's a baby. He's probably going to cry. And you insisted on a second baby so you'll put him to bed."

I gently put Emilio in his crib and sit on the bed. I run my hand down Christian's chest as he lies down on his back. Christian's lips tilted upwards, lightly. He looks into my eyes, leaning into my touch.

"You're so beautiful," I tell him and he chuckles. "That's my line." He whispers.

Christian grips my hips and pulls me underneath him. I gasp. "What are you doing?"

He smirks. "Nothing." He leans down to kiss my lips softly and almost immediately I kiss him back. "I love you."

"I love you more," I reply.

"Not possible."

He leans in again to kiss my lips and slides his tongue into my mouth, wanting more. Both of his hands explored my body as we kissed gently.

Soon, I'm Straddling his lap and his hands instantly go to my ass.

"Grazie per avermi amato anche quando non lo merito."
{Thanks for loving me even when I don't deserve it.}

Christian reminds me every day that he doesn't deserve my love and that he's great full for it so I always know what he's saying in Italian.

I roll my eyes. "You deserve all my love."

He hugs me close, my back to him, as he's spooning me.

I sigh as he places light kisses on my shoulders.

If you told me 5 years ago that I'd fall in love with this man I would have laughed right at you but now, I couldn't imagine not falling in love with him.

Our story didn't start well but it's still the best story I know. A story where I don't mind that those broken ends were met.
