The original Leaguers could only watch as Superman basically disappeared. They knew where he was going, but that also meant he would be stronger. At least, he had a lot of alien weapons that could easily take over the world.
"Okay..." Flash looked at everyone, his lips tightly pressed together. "What now?"
Everyone turned to the Dark Knight. Clearly, they thought he would have a plan for this. He, technically, did. However, he had a feeling it wouldn't work so well considering it relied on Clark's attraction to Lois and for him to not be expecting it. Clark would most certainly be expecting it with him, no matter his face now. There was also the strange problem with his head...
"Ivy." He growled.
A couple of the fellow heroes flinched at his harsh sounding words.
"What about her?" Wonder Woman crossed her arms.
Batman pinched the bridge of his nose as her words echoed back to him.
"Some months ago, he was in Gotham when Ivy attacked. She had genetically engineered spores she claimed were specifically targeted toward me. I had been keeping watch over Superman since he was stupid enough to breathe those spores in... I was beginning to think because he wasn't me and wasn't human that the spores did nothing."
As annoyed as the Amazon Princess had been becoming throughout everything, even she took a step back from the very annoyed bat. His face was twisted in a look they hadn't seen before, a pleasure they hadn't known.
"Keep track of Zeta Booms and any strange jet patterns going to or from Arctic. I'll talk with Ivy and Harley Quinn."
"The clown woman?" The Princess wrinkled her nose.
The dark clad vigilante didn't say anything, stomping off to the nearest Tube to send him home. He would have to warn Alfred and Dick about this. It's going to break the kid's heart...
For a second, he faltered in his step. Perhaps he didn't need to say anything right away... As reckless as Clark could be, he wasn't necessarily stupid. Now knowing who was behind his mask, he would figure out his newest crime fighting partner would be his own ward... He wouldn't risk hurting the kid, no matter how upset he was with Bruce... Hopefully.
'I'm riding a lot on hope.' He briefly thought before punching in the coordinates to where Ivy was stationed.
He easily made his way over to her cell. There she was still awake with her light on, tenderly petting Harley's head as said clown slept in her lap. The red-haired woman was smiling so sweetly, looking almost in love. It made Bruce's heart clench at the sight. Would Clark still look at him like that?
"I take it took effect?"
"He's killed at least two people that had threatened Bruce Wayne."
The plant woman looked up at that, her face showing clear surprise.
"And here I thought he'd be attached to you." She snickered a little, but that look quickly fell as those wise eyes searched his masked face. Her face quickly became grim. "Oh."
Naturally, his eyes looked around them. She knew why he was doing that, to see if anyone else was close enough to hear what she had said, to figure it out as well. There wasn't. Sure, she could hang with other prisoners, but she wasn't that trusted to be that close to them.
"I guess I should help. We don't need him becoming a dictator."
"You said you designed it for me. Why?"
She scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"And you're supposed to be the greatest detective." She muttered under her breath. "You know everyone's weaknesses. Or at least the majority of them. You're cunning and dangerous despite being human, not even a metahuman. What I made doesn't stop you from being you, it was supposed to, in theory, make you obsessed with me and to listen to my commands. Ya know, make it harder to catch me because I had you as a bodyguard basically." She waved one hand as if it was nothing.
Batman was silent, letting the information process. She allowed this, seeing as she would have to wake her clown up. She wasn't sure if the rich bat would want the insane doctor to come with them or not. Maybe she could lie? Nah, if she could engineer a spore on her own, then he wouldn't believe her.
"Ives?" The soft blonde mumbled with a pout. "What's goin' on?"
"Batman's here."
The pale woman whined but sat up. She rubbed her eyes, glaring a little at him but there wasn't any real heat to it.
"I'll need you both then." He mumbled, only loud enough for the two women to hear.
They blinked in surprise, Harley finally waking up.
"Uh... I think I'm missin' somethin'."
Typing in the access code, the doors to the cell opened. He narrowed his eyes on them, getting both of them to hurry out to his side. Swiftly, the clown woman clung to her Ivy, her face scrunched in confusion.
"This will count as community service. It'll take ten and five years off your sentences."
The two scoffed, rolling their eyes. They each had nearly a hundred years, but whatever. Some legal freedom was probably better for them anyways. This seemed serious. Hopefully, they'll be able to help before something more serious happens.
