"I know that look, I just want to know if it's something safe." Bruce sighed heavily, kneeling so he was looking Dick in the eyes.

For the past few days, the young boy had been glancing at Bruce in a strange way. He was also doing that little twitch he does when he's excited about something. However, whenever he would ask, he would be stone walled the best a child could stonewall a person.

"It is! It's very safe! Promise!" He nodded firmly.

He could barely keep the secret! He had to, though! He knew that it would make his new Dad happy, that being surprised by all of this would mean everything to him! He couldn't wait to see that happy and proud smile on his face.

Bruce kissed Dick's head, sighing a little. He was still unsure about this secret, so he just had to trust his words. It didn't feel right though. Something about this felt off to him. He couldn't understand who the kid would trust so much to keep something a secret from him. It could've been Alfred, but that wasn't likely, the old butler wasn't known for those kinds of surprises.

It had been bugging him for a long while, distracting him from work. It wasn't any better that Clark was seen back at work. It worried him as the Superman that was still flying around wasn't him...

"Tea, Master Bruce?"

"Yes... Thank you, Alfred." The tired man muttered, sipping the warm beverage. "Do you think... Do you think he talked with Dick?"

The old man said nothing, his face looking as uncertain as his master felt.

"I wish I could say, Master Bruce."

The dark-haired man nodded, sliding a hand through it. He then looked to all the reports he had to go through, both for Wayne Enterprise and the Justice League.

"I guess I should try and focus on this. It's at least something."

Alfred frowned but nodded and walked away. He knew there was something to say in that moment, perhaps he should've told him to rest? Currently, there wasn't much he could think of that would help.

For hours, Bruce worked into the night, first dealing with his company as it was just a bit easier and was the source of his income after all. He then was dealing with recruitment ideas and the like.

It was annoying, looking through their portfolio and who was requesting them. Most of the people were far too inexperience or temperamental to be allowed into the League. There were some diamonds in the rough, but they would need some mentorship and therapy before he even thought of allowing them full access!

Then there were other ideas that were either silly or would be needing to move like puzzle pieces! Like Flash asking for a running area so he could actually test his speed! The amount of energy he usually gives when training was already causing some interference with the Tower, but to actively give him something more?! No, to do that, he might as well build an entirely separate room that would absorb the excess electricity and help use it to boost the Tower's power...

'Actually, that could work... Maybe a separate generator that stores this energy? Rather not deal with more blackouts.'

"Stressful night?"

Bruce tensed, his breath caught in his throat. He could feel his heartbeat speed up, his body beginning to tremble.

"Are you not going to turn around?"

Clark smiled a little as he listened to his Bruce's heart. Then he was by his side, tenderly holding his wrist, stopping him from pulling out his hidden stash of Kryptonite.

"Now, now~ You won't be needing that."

Bruce glared at him, gritting his teeth. His wrist was becoming warm.

"Clark, you need to go to-"

"I need you." He muttered, pulling the other closer. "I know you want to be with me, so why are you trying so hard to stay away?" There was a look of insanity was forming within this blue eyes.

"I do." He murmured, " But this isn't you. I can't trust that this is something that you genuinely want this! Ivy's poison-"

"Don't talk about her." His voice twisted, his eyes glowing a hard red. "Her name shouldn't cross your lips. I'm fine. You can trust me. Dick still trusts me."

A cold chill went down the detective's spine, his eyes widening slightly.

"The secret."

Clark smirked, his eyes gleaming with pride.

"He's rather good at secret keeping it seems." He chuckled, wrapping his arms around a frozen Bruce's waist. "Don't worry, he's asleep at the Fortress. Don't you want to come and see what I did?"

Bruce's face scrunched up, him squeezing his eyes closed.

"I don't have a choice... You'll just bring me there whether I want to or not."

The Kryptonian's face soften at this. He knew he was putting his love in a tight spot, but he truly didn't know what else to do!

Gently, he kissed his billionaire. The kiss was soft and passionate, the slightly smaller male hesitantly wrapping his arms around his neck.

"There we go. Don't worry, you'll still be able to do work, but later. Once you have had time to relax."

With his acceptance, Bruce was picked up and flown out of his home and very quickly his city. He clung to his kidnapper, burying his head into the other's neck. He just had to wait; they were almost done with the cure... Hopefully.

Hey! So, sorry for not updating anything in a while. School's been kicking my ass and I hadn't been feeling inspired, so sorry. I hope you like the chapter though!
