I had noticed throughout the week that Bruce seemed down. His heart rate was beating at a much slower rate than usual. He also was distancing himself from me. Did he still believe that I was under some effect of Poison Ivy?
'Should I kill her to prove I'm not? No, that would upset him. I don't want to do that.'
"Papa, is Dad okay?" Dick's blue eyes were filled with worry as his small hand grabbing onto the bottom of my shirt.
I gave him a soft smile and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm just going to bring Bruce out on a date this weekend. I guess he's just nervous."
Dick paused for a moment, before smiling and nodding. He looked happy enough.
"Does that mean I can go visit some of my Gotham friends? I haven't seen them in a while." He looked hopeful, but I wasn't sure.
Gotham was dangerous, probably more so now that Batman was gone. However, I guess it wouldn't be good for him to grow up without some friends around!
"Alright, but I would like to have at least one Super bot nearby, okay?"
He pouted a little.
"I can take care of myself! Promise!"
I gave him a look, standing firm on this. I could just send it without him knowing, but that wouldn't do. I'm sure he would spot it without too much trouble and find a way to ditch it, which would cause far more problems.
After a few minutes of us just staring at each other, he finally relented.
"Fine, but only one! And it has to know the differences between danger and fear." He gave his own pointed look.
I laughed, nodding.
"Only fair. Want to help me with that?"
His eyes lit up and before we knew it, we were bonding over how to better equip the Superbot with understanding of situations. It was rather fun helping Dick code and recode the machine. Even hearing him whine and grumble about it all too! The kid was adorable.
Then it came down to date night. The first thing that I did was drop Dick off at his friends, introducing myself as his father's current partner, though I knew I would be more than just current. After that, I flew back to the Fortress and prepared myself for the date.
"Alright, Clark, I'm ready."
I smiled lovingly at him, letting my eyes look him up and down. He was wearing a simple deep blue suit, no tie, and his hair combed back. It was a simple look, nothing shiny and the suit wasn't like his usual expensive tastes, yet he looked stunning.
"Gorgeous." I murmured to him, pulling him close to me.
His face flushed, his heart racing just for a moment.
"You and your words." He muttered, his bottom lip jutting out ever so slightly.
'Aww~ He's pouting~ I didn't know he could pout!'
Softly, I kissed his forehead, smiling to him.
"You're pouting." I whispered in his ear.
His heart raced once more, his body warming up.
"Clark." His tone was warning, but I could tell he was just getting flustered.
I laughed a little, pulling away from him to look at his scowling face. His glare was soft, not like how it usually was, and that made my smile grow.
"Alright~ I won't tease you anymore. Where do you want to go?"
"Paris?" He quirked an eyebrow, tilting his head in his flirting way.
I grinned, picking him up in my arms. His hands gripped me tightly, he naturally pressing close to my body.
"Paris, France it is."
Holding him securely, I walked into a new room that I had made before getting him. I simply called it my garage because that was where I kept some new vehicles I had personally made. It wasn't that hard.
"Didn't know you had this room..." Bruce's tone shifted a little, sounding a bit more calculating than before.
I chuckled and nodded, picking a simple looking car. He squirmed in my arms, so I placed hm on his feet. With a glance toward me, he opened the door and sat himself in. I shook my head at him, not in a mocking way, but more amused.
"I made them while I was waiting on how to get you. I figured it would be easier for us to go around the world this way. It's armored too." I casually mentioned, getting a nod from him.
His beautiful eyes were looking around, clearly trying to figure out its weakness. While he did that, I finally took us out. He jolted a little as he saw that we were flying through the sky, his body tensing for a moment. He then sighed and shook his head.
After that, it was a calm thirty or so minutes before we landed on the outskirts of Paris. The city looked beautiful at night, and it surprisingly wasn't too compact.
"We should probably walk. It would easier." Bruce murmured, looking around.
I nodded, being mindful that I was supposed to drive on the left side here. Once parked, we held hands and walked around. The air was a bit chilly, but it was still very nice and beautiful. We talked a bit, looking around for somewhere to eat. Not like we were in a hurry to do so anyways.
"This is nice." Bruce mumbled as we finally decided on a small cafe to eat at.
"It really is." I reached over, taking one of his hands.
His face flushed a subtle red, smiling at our joined hands. It was a bit sad looking, but I decided to ignore that for now. Eventually, I'll wash all those worries from his head.
I shifted my seat, moving just a bit closer to him. I cupped his face and leaned over to kiss him. He leaned into it, only pulling away when the waitress was coming back.
"We can continue this later." He whispered low enough for only I to hear.
I grinned, chuckling a little. This was probably one of the best dates we had together. I should take him out more often.
