memento mori
remember you will die
what a statement to make
what words to live by
once dusk falls
on a pathetic existence
everything ebony
and nothing making sense
dance alone at night
twirl into shadowed arms
and sing with bloodied bodies
succumb to their charms
grab a shovel
dig a bit each day
'till it's deep enough
lies are all you say
never stand in sunlight
it's sure to blind you
at very least it burns you bad
one thing left to do
make a bed by stone
it feels more like a home
a grave remark
as across fields you roam
ticking in your ear
a lifelong headache
make peace with it
if only for your sake
never cry
and never try
memento mori
remember you will die
