Shiver betwixt spider lilies—
He salted soil like Achilles
His coat lay silent next to he
Pushing aching breaths—stuck to free
Clutching fabric—pulsing beneath
Frigid skin under clacking teeth
Darkening clouds spiral over
Thoughts he stressed close to stover
Shaky fingers raise to cracked lip—
He gnawed on by old habit slip
Spider lilies bending, whipping—
Fitful whirls below fog dripping
Tall hills shriek around him—
To heed his weeping grim
A heart once he embraced—
Yet their blood soon displaced
Now the wind brawls with man
Death of ice likeness stand
Pressing hands to his scars—
Down his spine mass of stars
Spider lilies mutter—
Words he ne'er dared utter
