late nights
bright screens
wasting time
darkness is overwhelming
it covers me like an embrace
it is familiar
it feels like home
some say things are hiding in the dark
they say these demons mean to scare
but maybe they just yearn for company
maybe they seek understanding
maybe they just wish for a friend
maybe they feel an infinite loneliness
maybe they are just like us
darkness brings comfort
alone in the dark
just like always
it's better this way
