how do you put an ache into words?
a soreness from something or other
what is the cause?
a pain that lingers
a stone that somehow hurts
its cold
a dull pain pulsates
if i reached down my throat
wrapped my fingers around
and pulled it from its place
would the ache cease?
or would it only stab me more?
i did try
i put an effort into caring for it
bandaging it
dabbing at blood that seeped from my chest
but i found that it was all too much
i was too tired to try anymore
ive allowed it to fade
it barely breaths
its pulse so soft i cant often feel it
the pain is constant
a reminder of the tragedy i have committed
or was it no fault of mine?
one could blame those who killed it
but it doesnt much matter
i can only feel the ache
