James

James is laying on the beach, enjoying the summer sun, drifting in and out of sleep. He is finally jolted awake when water is splashed all over him.

He jumps up and sees Regulus running away. He chases him and tackles him to the ground, both ending up rolling in the sand laughing. James pins Regulus down and starts tickling him, making him squirm, but Regulus distracts him with a kiss.

And how can James not get distracted. He forgets everything and loses himself in Regulus's arms as always.

It's been almost a month since Regulus left and moved in with his family, and it's been an amazing month for James. Knowing that Regulus is safe, seeing him getting more relaxed, happier, seeing him open up with his parents, getting closer again with Sirius, it all filled James' heart with joy.

And James gets to spend all the time he wants with him, which is all day.

He continued to wake up in his arms, they played quidditch, they went to Diagon Alley, to muggle London again, they saw movies, they went on a day trip with his parents to Edimburgh and secretly got drunk on muggle beer (not so secretly, he knows his parents definitely saw through them).

He sadly parts with Regulus only when he's doing something or other with his parents, or some sibling bonding, as he got to call it to himself, or when Regulus wants to see some of his friends alone and practically shoves James away.

One that has become among his favorite activities is reading with Regulus, while Regulus is in his arms resting against his chest, and he reads over his shoulder. Or he just watches Regulus read, to be honest that's beautiful too.

Now they are at the beach house, one of James' favourite places. It's right on the beach, and there are no other houses nearby, so they have this part of the beach all to themselves.

Regulus snuggles up to his side, they close their eyes and bask in the sun.

Ten minutes or two hours could have passed when he hears Sirius' shouts daring Remus and Peter to race to the sea. James sees the three boys launch themselves in the water, but he doesn't move because Regulus has fallen asleep.

It's not long before Peter leaves Sirius and Remus, drifting in the waves as they kiss.

Peter lays down in the sun beside them, even if he shouldn't because he's already sunburnt.

As the other two join them, Regulus mumbles: "What time is it?", as he rubs his eyes. Regulus being sleepy is one of his favourite sights, James has to give him a kiss.

"Actually, it's time for the others to arrive", says Sirius.

"What? Pads, you told us it was still early", says Peter.

"Okay, maybe I wanted to have a swim...", Sirius smiles bashfully. James laughs and shakes his head.

"Race back to the house?", adds Sirius.

James jumps up, starts running, and surpasses all the others, reaching the house first. As he rests with his hands on his knees, the flames in the fireplace turn green and Lily and Mary appear in the living room.

His parents have agreed to let them stay by themselves and invite their friends.

"How was Brighton?", says James, greeting them. Lily went to Mary's for a few days, after the two girls got back together.

"Good, look how tanned I managed to make Lily!", says Mary. Lily is arguably not tanned, and probably will never be, but her freckles have multiplied.

"MacDonald", exclaims Sirius embracing her as soon as he arrives.
