Right under everyone's noses, Kai and Kyungsoo were secretly exchanging messages even during work hours. It originally started when Kyungsoo asked for Kai's contact as they were collaborating on the possible amendments to the laws related to aviation and aeronautics, and maritime transport.

"Kai, can you stay for a bit after work hours? I need to meet with you about something," Kyungsoo's message read.

"Sure, Your Excellence. I'll be here in my station if you'll look for me," Kai replied.

Just when Jongin sent the message, an unusually high-pitched voice disturbed Jongin from his work, "Jongin-ssi, are you free after work? Can we hang out since tomorrow's the weekend?"

"Thank you for the offer, Saekyok-ssi, but I still have lots of documents to submit, so I might extend for several hours," Jongin politely declined.

"But it's almost the end of the shift. Will His Excellence still be here?" Saekyok was getting frustrated that her plan was not working.

"I already checked with His Excellence, he is going to be working overtime as well," Kai reasoned.

"The two of you seemed to be spending so much time lately. Why is that?" Saekyok scowled.

Kai just giggled, "We are just working on some possible changes to the safety requirements on both sea and air travel."

"So, are you really turning down my invitation? I promise I will show you a good time," Saekyok winked suggestively.

"As I said earlier, I can accept your invitation. I still have more important stuff to do."

Saekyok sulkily sashayed away. At that point, only Jongin was left inside the office of the Department of Transportation. Even the receptionist, Clouie, left as soon as her shift was over due to important family events.

Kai continued to polish the possible revisions for the laws related to maritime travel. He failed to notice that an hour already passed since Saekyok left before a message notification broke his concentration.

"Come to my office," the message instructed.

Kai organized his desk before leaving, he didn't want any piece of paper from the document he was working on to be missing come Monday. As usual, Kai passed through the office of the legend of travel before knocking on the door to the connecting office.

"Good evening, Your Excellence. How can I serve you tonight?"

"Good evening, Kai-ya."

Kai did not notice before since he bowed but there was plenty of food prepared, "What's all this, Your Excellence?"

"Well, you have been working hard since last week so I thought of treating you to a meal," Kyungsoo muttered nervously.

"Just the two of us, Your Excellence?" Kai teased. "Is this a date?"

"Well... if you want it to be that way, I don't see why not?" Kyungsoo was playing with the hem of his clothes.

Kai released a snort, "That wasn't very romantic, your answer, that is."

"I'm sorry, okay? I only have a little proclivity toward romance," Kyungsoo whined.

"It's all right. Your presence has made everything better," Kai shot a smile at Kyungsoo, making the poor legend blush more. "Should we dig in? You put effort into it after all."

"Well, actually, I asked the cafeteria staff to prepare this since I couldn't think of anything else."

"Like I said, if it's with you, then it's fine by me," Kai reassured.
