45: Hear Me Out

The group split into two during the elevator ride — Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Kyungsoo, and Kai in one elevator and Luhan, Kris, Suho, Lay, Tao, and Sehun in the other. They searched for the room until they located it in one corner of the hospital building. The room was also an executive private room, just like Lay's room. Unlike earlier, however, they had the decency to knock on the door before opening it.

"Hi, guys. Welcome! Are you here to visit Baozi?" Chen looked at the newly arrived. Xiumin, who was conscious, also turned his head to the door.

Luhan, Lay, Baekhyun, Tao, and Kai rushed to Xiumin's side. Their sudden movement even pushed Chen toward the sofa near the window.

"Hyung, are you alright?" Kai asked Xiumin.

"I'm seriously fine," Xiumin smiled.

"Broken left wrist, transverse fracture on his left arm, dislocated right shoulder, cuts, and bruises," Chen supplied. "No brain damage, internal bleeding, or anything major."

"Will you be here long?" Lay asked. "The doctor said I can check out tonight."

"Well, as per doctor recommendations, I'll be here for at most two days since I'm still under observation in case of a late onset of a head injury. But if everything goes well, I can be checked out by Thursday noon or afternoon," Xiumin said.

"Why did she push you by the way? What's her motive?" Kyungsoo wondered.

"I have the answer to that. Hear me out," Chen declared while holding his phone. "The investigation conducted by the police on the six interns on the command of Jungkook-ssi discovered their motives. Saekyok-ssi was lusting over Kai so when Kyungsoo 'claimed' him and completely lost her chance, she snapped. Natae-ssi copied Luhan-hyung's research as she was too lazy and procrastinated until the last moments. Jiltu was envious of the luxurious gifts Baekhyun was receiving. Gyoman's pride was hurt when we selected Tao's design over hers, believing she was the most talented architect in the whole Exoplanet. Bunno poisoned Yixing-ssi out of wrath for rejecting her toxic drug which took her ten years to develop. Finally, preliminary investigation reveals that Tamyok pushed Baozi down the stairs since he was getting all the attention in their department and she was greedy about getting all the attention and praises for herself."

"Oh, wow... all those reasons are really shallow," Sehun commented.

"Gyoman deserved to be punished for destroying my legend of time's laptop," Kris insisted.

"And I will not forgive Bunno for poisoning my legend of health," Suho clenched his fist.

"Wait... Hold up..." Chen noticed.

It seemed Xiumin caught up as well, "Correct me if I'm wrong but did you two just imply that Tao is the legend of time and Lay is the legend of health?"

"Surprise!" Baekhyun, Kai, and Luhan screamed just loud enough for them not to disturb other patients.

"Are you serious? Kris-hyung? Suho-hyung?" Chen was about to burst in anticipation.

When Kris and Suho nodded as a response, Chen stood up and hugged his two hyungs. There was excitement in the air but it was temporarily put on hold when the attending physician and the nurse, the same ones who checked on Lay, entered the room.

"Excuse me, Your Excellences. I did not know everyone was here," the doctor was taken aback by the sight.

"It's okay, seonsaengnim. Please do what you have to do," Suho reassured the doctor.

Same with Lay earlier, the doctor and the nurse performed the standard procedures. However, their examination took a little longer to check Xiumin's broken wrist and fractured arm.
