48: Run The World

It was Monday, the first working day since the completeness of all twelve legends was announced to the public. One might assume it would be a busy day since the Central Office could run smoother now that they were not understaffed anymore. However, everything seemed normal in the whole Central Office. In fact, it was business as usual.

Kai, Lay, and the executive assistants under them were in the Verdure Conference Room on the eighth floor. They were discussing something important that involved their two departments. Originally, the meeting was scheduled to be in the Voyage Conference Room on the fourth floor but Lay insisted that he and his staff should be the ones who will facilitate the meeting so Kai just went with his hyung's idea.

"Good morning, all executive assistants. Goodness, I'm still not used to this," Lay chuckled nervously. "The Department of Transportation is here to discuss the updated requirements and specifications on how to secure permits for vehicles that will be used as either ambulance, medicament transport, organ transport, or produce transport. I hope all executive assistants under the Department of Food and Health will take note for easy dissemination of information."

"Yes, Yixing-hyung," Kun, Ten, Winwin, Lucas, Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang responded. Lay and the rest of the legends gave everyone permission to call him in a more casual manner.

"I will now give the floor to Kai for his part," Lay gestured for Kai to start.

"Thank you, hyung. Good morning, everyone. As Lay-hyung said, the purpose of today's meeting is to update the permit requirements for vehicles closely associated with food and health. To start, Hwasa-ssi will present the new specifications needed to pass as an ambulance and also to be able to transport medicaments, and fresh or frozen products via land. Moonbyul-ssi will follow and discuss the specifications when the transport is done via water. Solar-ssi will be the third speaker to present the specifications when transporting via air. Finally, Wheein-ssi will mention the specifications when transporting via the railways," Kai gave an overview. "I hope my executive assistants are prepared for their tasks."

"Of course, Jongin-ssi. Never underestimate your staff," Solar playfully retorted while Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa nodded in agreement.

"If everyone is ready, I will give the floor to Hwasa-ssi for her part."

The meeting between the Department of Transportation and the Department of Food and Health actually lasted for the whole day. The only breaks were during lunch and light snacks in the morning and afternoon. But overall, their meeting was successful.

Happening on another floor of the Central Office was the meeting between the Department of Infrastructure and the Department of Finance and Taxation. Tao, Suho, and their respective executive assistants were all present. The venue for the meeting was the Epoch Conference Room on the seventh floor.

"Hyung..." Tao whined to Suho.

"It's okay. You can do it. It's just the same people you already know," Suho smiled at Tao as a form of reassurance.

Tao took a long, deep breath, "Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the joint meeting between the Department of Infrastructure and the Department of Finance and Taxation. We are here to present to you the proposed plan for the renovation and additional room for the Exploration and the construction cost estimate of the project. Jisoo-ssi will explain why is there a need for the renovation of the Exploration. Lisa-ssi will explain the necessary renovations needed. I will present the design for the additional room. Rose-ssi will list down the equipment needed for both projects. Finally, Jennie-ssi will be presenting the construction cost estimate and its breakdown. I hope the aforementioned people are ready with their tasks."
