I'd just like to start off by saying sorry! I feel like a horrible person cause I never seem to have time to write anymore which is bad for me as well cause I absolutely LOVE writing so it makes me sad when I don't get to! I promise I am going to try to take out more time for writing from now on, especially since I've already written 14 chapters of this book, they just need to be uploaded.
Anyways...
I opened the fridge, looking to make sure we actually had all of the ingredients for the Alfredo. I pulled out the cheese, flour and milk from the fridge before turning towards the pantry. When I opened it up I was impressed to see that it was neatly organized. I pulled the noodles off the second shelf and set to work. For a condo, the kitchen was actually quite spacious with dark granite counters and four different sinks.
"Need any help?" Ashton asked.
"Uh, yeah. Can you grab a pot for the sauce?"
Ashton walked over to a cupboard and pulled out a pot before setting it on the counter. I started preparing the sauce.
"So, about where you're sleeping... although I'm sure all of the guys would love to have you sleep in their beds, there are only a couple of places I can think of where you'll actually be okay sleeping. Basically, your choices are my bed, the couch in the living room and uh... the extra bed... in Cole's room..." Ashton trailed off.
"Ha! No thanks, I'd rather sleep with you" I rolled my eyes.
"Awe come on, I'm not that bad" Ashton defended.
"Ashton, you kick like an Olympic swimmer in your sleep. Not only that, you also talk and snore" I laughed.
Ashton held his hands up in front of him, "Okay, okay! Well, your only other option is the couch."
"I'll take it" I sighed.
"There's plenty of room in my bed" a voice called from the door frame of the kitchen.
I turned and rolled my eyes at Brody,"thanks, but I'll stick with the couch."
Brody shrugged, "suit yourself, but just remember, the offer still stands."
"Right..." I laughed.
"By the way, on a totally unrelated note, you have a job right?" Brody asked suddenly.
"Uh, yeah... why?" I said slowly.
"Well, one of the unfortunate things about moving out of the parentals place is that you have to start paying your own way through life."
I stopped what I was doing for a second and frowned. He was right; I wasn't going to have my parents paying for everything anymore. Suddenly, I was very glad I had a job.
"Alright, just tell me how much of everything I have to pay for" I smiled.
"Well, including rent, utilities, groceries, cable and the fact that you have a cellphone, you're looking at about $320 a month seeing as there are six of us splitting the cost. That doesn't include entertainment, gas or clothing though" Ashton quickly added up.
I took a slow breath, "Okay, I can handle that."
Ashton gave me a reassuring smile, "trust me, you'll be fine."
I returned his smile, "I know Ash. Now, who wants some dinner?"
There was the sound of footsteps thundering up the stairs and I held back my laughter as two excited faces and one annoyed, bruising one showed up in the kitchen doorway.
"We do!" Tyson exclaimed.
Not being able to hold it back any longer, I let a chortle escape my lips as I picked up the pot of Fettuccine Alfredo and headed into the adjoining dining room. Setting the pot down, I grinned. It looked pretty good if I do say so myself.
"Oh my god, this smells amazing!" Jock exclaimed.
My grin widened, "thanks!"
Cole scoffed, "let's just eat."
I smirked, eyeing the bruise that was already forming around his eye and down his jaw, "good luck with that."
Cole grimaced but didn't say anything. The rest of the boys sat down and started to dig in. All throughout the meal I watched in amusement as Cole winced with every bite. After we finished I helped Ashton clean up the table and wash the dishes before checking the time. 9:30 already? We must have had a later dinner than I thought.... either that or it just took us three and a half hours to finish the dishes.
"Hey Ash, where are the blankets?" I asked, deciding I should just start getting ready for bed seeing as I had to get up early for work tomorrow.
When I turned around though, I found that I was now alone in the kitchen. I ran down the stairs and into the living room hoping one of the guys would be there. I frowned when I saw a familiar blond seated on the couch.
"Cole, move; I want to go to bed and I don't want to sleep on your lap" I snapped.
Cole turned to me and raised an eyebrow, "you're sleeping on the couch?"
"Yeah" I sighed, "Ashton kicked in his sleep and the only other available bed is in your room apparently."
"Oh yeah..." Cole said, a grin slowly spreading across his face.
I narrowed my eyes, "what's with the look?"
Ignoring my question, Cole instead continued, "so basically, if for some reason you couldn't sleep on the couch, you would have to sleep in my room?"
Realizing immediately what he was up to when I saw the glass of water in his hand, I took a quickstep forward, "Cole!-"
It was too late though and I watched in horror as Cole drenched the couch.
He smirked up at me, "looks like we're rooming together for the night."
Oh god, I thought, what is he planning?
