I slowly blinked open my eyes, wondering why my head was pounding so loudly. I tried rolling over but all that happened was be being pulled into a strange falling feeling. The next thing I knew, I had hit the ground hard and landed in a crumpled pile on the floor. What the heck, I thought. Sitting up, I realized that I had been lying sideways in my bed and I had fallen out when I'd tried to roll over.
Immediately, I heard a groan come from beneath a pile of blankets on Cole's bed, "not so loud!"
"It's not my fault that you got so drunk last night that you couldn't even remember-" I stopped myself.
Maybe bringing up the fact that he kept calling me Tessa last night wouldn't be such a good idea.
"Your own name" I finished instead.
"Do you mind saving the speech and instead getting me some Advil?" Cole mumbled.
"fine" I grinned, "but you'll owe me one."
Cole's head suddenly popped up from beneath the covers, eyes wide, "no wait!"
But I was already out the door. Admittedly, I wanted to ask Cole who Tessa was, to figure out what his whole episode had been about last night, but I had a feeling that that information wouldn't be easily attained.
"Morning" Jock drawled as I walked into the kitchen-dining room.
I walked over to the kitchen cabinets and swung them open, searching, "where's the Advil?"
"He hung over again?" Jock asked, walking up beside me and pulling out a bottle with a red label.
"Again" I raised an eyebrow, "is this something that happens a lot?"
Jock gave me a slightly sheepish smile, "just make him take two Advils and get him to drink all of this and he'll be fine."
Jock opened the fridge, pulled out one of several cans of Coke and tossed it to me. Apparently, it did happen a lot. I cradled the pop and the pills in my hands as I made my way back downstairs. When I got back to the room, I found Cole lying on his stomach on the floor, pressing his forehead in to the cool tiles.
His head slowly raised as the door closed behind me with a soft click, "you got me a Coke too?"
"Yeah, so now you owe me double" I joked.
"I owe you nothing" Cole snapped coldly.
"Okay then..." I muttered too low for him to hear before passing him the things I'd gotten.
I was about to just head back upstairs to get away from the rude boy on the floor when my phone rang.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Shh!" Cole groaned.
I ignored him.
"I realize that your dad still wants to take care of you but I don't. I hope you realize that I will no longer be paying for your schooling and I do not want to see your face around my campus ever again!"
I cringed at the voice on the other end of the line, "Stacey. It's funner, no one told me the wicked witch was in town."
"Why are you talking so loud?" Cole cried, "honestly, I hate you so much right now!"
"Was that a boy in the back round there? My god, you little slut! You've probably been up to disgusting things since you left" Stacey snarled in distaste.
I sighed, "I'm so not dealing with you right now you-"
"I think I'm going to hurl" Cole suddenly spluttered, racing into our bathroom.
