Now without further adieu...

When I woke up-as per usual- Cole was no where to be seen. His sheets were all tanged up and his cover was in a pile beside his bed. This time, there weren't any notes or signs from hi though. I stretched and grabbed my phone, checking the time. My alarm wasn't set to go off for another half an hour... why had I gotten up so early? My gaze flickered over to Cole's bed, and how early did he get up?

I sighed and got up, padding over to the bathroom. My date with Caleb last night had gone alright but I'd felt really nervous the whole time. It was like I had to make sure we kept up a conversation the whole night because I didn't want to fall into an awkward silence. Of course, in turn, that had made things even more awkward.

I glanced at myself in the mirror. Luckily, the marker was already starting to fade, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to make Cole pay for what he'd done. I grinned at myself in the mirror; I did have a half hour to kill right now...I exited the bathroom and jogged up the stairs. When I got into the kitchen, hoping to find prank inspiration, I noticed the note on the fridge. I quickly read the note, already knowing it would be from Cole.

Hey, went out early this morning. I'll be back in time to give rides to school though!

I shrugged and turned away from the note, opening one of the cupboards. I wondered to myself what Cole always did in the mornings. Did he ever sleep? Maybe he was a vampire.... but god I hoped not. I continued to search the cupboards but nothing was really jumping out at me as prank worthy items... that is until I found the packets of Kool-Aid powder. I gave a mischievous grin and grabbed two packets before turning and racing back downstairs. As I trotted gleefully back into the bathroom I made a mental note to tell the guys not to use it from now on unless they wanted grape flavoured purple hair and skin. Stepping up beside the shower, I put the Kool-Aid packs to the side for a moment. First thing was first: I needed to figure out how to get the shower head off...

"He's still not back" I said for the hundredth time.

"We know Danny" Ashton frowned.

"Well, where could he be?" I asked worriedly.

"Who knows, this is Cole Somme we're talking about" Jock pointed out.

"Guys, we need to get to school soon" Brody warned.

"I don't care" I announced, "I'm not going today... I'm going to go find Cole."

"We're in" Tyson grinned.

"One problem though" Ashton sighed, "we aren't all going to fit in my truck."

"Then we'll split up. Some of us should probably stay here anyways, just in case he comes back" I decided.

"Alright, I guess I'll stay" Brody volunteered.

"Same" Jock added, "I have some homework that I didn't do last night that I should finish."

"Alright, then I guess Danny, Ashton and I will go out and look for him then" Tyson nodded.

"And I think I know where he is" Ashton grabbed the heys.

"Great, let's go" I headed towards the door.

God, I hoped Cole was alright.
