Dedicated to dreaming_loon for being there from the beginning and always supporting my works... thanks! :D

Also, I have made a trailer for the book (yay!) and I'm gonna put it at the beginning of the book so go check it out.

I stood, staring, as Cole went into the English room. What had he meant, 'people could be mean'? I shook my head realizing that I probably looked really strange just standing there outside the classroom, so I took a deep breath before pushing through the door.

"Oh, hello!" a blond, kind looking woman exclaimed.

"Hi" I smiled shyly, "I'm Danielle Forster. I'm new."

"Well, I'm pleased to meet you. My name is Mrs. Greymarr. If you want, you can go take a seat next to..."

Please don't say Cole, I thought.

"Caleb" Mrs. Greymarr finished.

I tried not to look overly relieved as I walked past Cole's desk and made my way to a desk that sat beside the cute, dark haired, green eyed boy Mrs. Greymarr had pointed at. He smiled at me as I sat down. He had two perfect dimples when he smiled and I couldn't help but grin back.

"Hi, I'm Caleb" he introduced himself.

"Danny" I offered.

"So, you're new huh?"

I suppressed a sigh, "yeah... I guess."

"You guess?" he raised an eyebrow.

"Well, it's same town, but new school" I explained.

"Why'd you move at such a weird time in the semester?"

I felt my throat constrict slightly. I couldn't tell him the truth.

"I-"

"Danielle, I'm glad to hear that you're already making friends sweetie but could you and Caleb please pay attention?" Mrs. Greymarr's lyrical voice cut me off.

"sorry Mrs. Greymarr" Caleb called before turning to me and quickly whispering, "hey, eat with me at lunch today and then we can finish this conversation."

Oh boy, I thought, I have a lunch date already.

Second period had been dull and I'd gotten stuck in the back corner by myself because it was the only available desk. When the bell rang, I ran out of that room as quickly as possible. Almost immediately, I spotted Ashton, Tyson and Jock standing by a group of lockers. For some reason, it was as if the other people in the hall were avoiding them. I grinned and started towards them. Before I could even get two steps though a short, red head with wide, brown eyes stepped in my way.

"What do you think you're doing? Are you crazy new kid?!" she whisper yelled.

I stared at her for a second, "uh, why do you ask?"

"Those are three of THE most popular guys in school! You can't just waltz right up to them" she explained as if I was stupid.

"Why not? Are they mean or something?"

If they were then I was so going to-

The girl scoffed, "no, of course not. The thing is, it's just not done. It isn't socially acceptable for anyone but Stacey's clique to approach the popular guys."

I flinched, "Stacey?"

"Yeah, she is the most popular girl in school."

With a name like that, I'd bet anything she's a real witch too, I thought.
