Yo, can we try for at least.... two comments? Not too much to ask, right? :P

I woke with a groan and switched off the alarm I didn't remember setting the night before. Once I finally dragged myself into a sitting position, I noticed a note sitting underneath my cellphone. I picked it up and unfolded it.

Dear Idiot,

You forgot to set your alarm so I set it for you. Your welcome! Just wanted to let you... and the rest of the guys know that I left early this morning to drive home those few people that slept here and return car keys. I'm probably going to miss the first half of the day and possibly the second so can you and the rest of the guys get my homework and stuff? It may surprise you to know, but I do care about school. Thanks Danny!

P.P.S. that's permanent marker so good luck getting it off in time for school!

I frowned as I finished reading the note. Whatwas permanent marker? A sudden feeling of fear jolting through me, I jumped up and ran full tilt to the bathroom. When I got in, I flicked on the lights and checked my reflection in the mirror.

"Oh my..." I choked.

Written across my cheeks in thick, black, permanent marker, it said:

I <3 COLE SOMME!

He. Was. So. Dead.

I tried scrubbing with soap and water but like he'd predicted, it made no difference. I groaned in frustration, giving up and going back into the bedroom to get dressed. I pulled out a pair of dark skinnies, a navy blue AE top and my converse. I quickly changed into them and then grabbed my backpack, slowly beginning to trudge up the stairs; dreading the day already.

"Morning Danny! What..." Ashton broke off, choking on laughter as I entered the kitchen glowering, "what happened to your face?!"

"Gee Ash, great to see you too" I deadpanned, "what do you think happened?"

"Okay sorry!" Ashton tried- and failed- to suppress his smile, "and it's really not that noticeable or funny... I promise."

"Oh my god, your face! That's hilarious! Guys, come check out Danny's face!" Brody yelled.

I narrowed my eyes at him as Jock and Tyson came running in. Both boys immediately erupted.

"Uh, Dan-o... you've got... a little something... on your cheek" Tyson got out between laughs.

"Oh come on guys, it's really not that bad" Jock chuckled.

I gave him a grateful look, "thank you J-"

"Oh, who am I kidding? That is the funniest thing I have ever seen in my whole life! And the face you're making right now just adds to it!"

All four of them broke into another round of laughter. I sighed. I needed some milk. I opened up the fridge and took it out, pouring myself a glass. The guys were still chuckling behind me which I didn't get cause it honestly wasn't THAT funny.

"Some best friend you are" I muttered to Ashton before taking a sip of milk.

"Alright" Ashton said, trying to regain his breath, "we should probably get going."

I frowned, "I just started my milk though!"

Ashton rolled his eyes, "chug it."

Brody grinned and exchanged glances with Tyson.

"Chug! Chug! Chug!" they started chanting together.

"Come on Danny, you can do it!" Jock cheered.

I rolled my eyes and drained my glass, wincing slightly at the momentary brain freeze.

"Alright, let's go" I started towards the car.

I gripped the door handle and took a deep, calming breath. I had already gotten so many weird looks, and I hadn't even made it into first period yet.I knew exactly what would happen the second I entered English and I was dreading it. What else could I do though? Squaring my shoulders, I pushed the door open and entered the room.

"Hello Danielle, how are you... today..." Mrs. Greymarr trailed off.

"Not so great. I was defaced in my sleep" I pouted.

"Yes... I see that" Mrs. Greymarr laughed awkwardly.

I gave her a small smile, trying to show her that I wasn't a total freak before going to take a seat at my spot.

When Caleb spotted me, he raised an eyebrow, "is that so?"

I immediately knew he was talking about the message on my face, "no, not right now. Actually, not ever. I don't 'heart' him at all."

"Ah, I see" Caleb laughed, "so, Keelie and I miss anything after we left...?"

I laughed, knowing he was wondering how I'd been defaced, "actually no, not really. I went straight to my room to hide out after you guys left. I'm assuming Cole left me this beautiful message while I was sleeping."

"Hmm... I'm sure you look cute when you're sleeping" he winked.

Rule Number Two: be playful.

"Are you trying to say you don't think I look cute the rest of the time?" I asked, feigning a hurt expression.

Caleb grinned, "no, I would never say that! You're definitely always cute."

I grinned in return, "and you're not too shabby yourself."

"Why thank you" he chuckled, "so I was thinking... you're new here, and we don't really know each other very well yet, so I was wondering if you'd maybe like to come to dinner with me tonight, you know, so we can talk and get to know each other a little better."

I blushed, "yeah, I'd love that. I have to work after school but I get off at six so... pick me up at six thirty?"

"Why half an hour after your shift is done?"

"Cause, I have to get ready" I said in a 'duh' tone.

"Cole-lover, Caleb, eyes forward please" Mrs. Greymarr chimed.

Caleb let out a chuckle and gave me a grin before turning his attention to the front of the room. I was so excited for tonight.

Hey, sorry that it's been a bit of a wait but... well, I don't really have an excuse other than the fact that I got really engrossed in the books If You Only Knew by AnnabelleGraceton and Take Me As I Am by MyHeartsMistake... so sorry :P OOh, and go check out those books... they're really good :D Anyways, so ere it is an' I 'ope you all enjoy! :P
