A strobe of light flickered erratically on the ceiling, casting constant shadows amidst the washed-out room. Suki was strapped to a metal chair, tubes all connecting into one point; her vein. The liquids were easily decipherable from a red-headed tween, who watched silently from the one-way mirror.
"That's her?" Karin spoke, the chart at her side in her steel grip.
Orochimaru stood next to her. "You'll be in charge in monitoring her status. Heal her, feed her, and keep the fluids going." He instructed as if it was simple.
From one corner of the daunting room Suki was in, the lifeless, yet in-tact body of Kimimaro floated in a pod. The tubes came from his, directly pulling what is left of his chakra and blood while it was still fresh.
Orochimaru had the question, a hypothesis. Per usual, it gets tested.
On his successor, of all subjects.
"Right..." Karin swallowed the moment he turned and left. Despite his cruelty, he was still the man who saved her. Karin couldn't deny her saviour. "Gee... Now I'm stuck with the psycho." Her red eyes struggled to focus on Suki.
Her black mess of hair covered the majority of her downcast face. She hadn't moved an inch since the process started. Other than her chipped nails persistently scratching the cold metal of the armrest. As Karin looked closer at the pale girl, she could see the raw stench of wrath emanate from her chakra.
It was a dark gray, like a menacing storm brewing in the middle of an ocean. That, alone, frightened Karin more than she wished to admit.

"Why the hell do you willingly join Suki on her missions?!" Karin barked, demanding answers like some crazy ex-girlfriend
"I'd love to know, too." Suki muttered to herself, rummaging the pockets of a fallen enemy-nin.
Sasuke just was an inch taller than Suki, multiple than Karin. They each wore a purple belt to symbolise the snake, appearances rather fitting for the terrorist's underlings. Fourteen and on going, neither hormones seemed to really apply to the two introverts.
Karin, on the other hand, was at Sasuke's hip the entire mission.
"It's not something you should be concerned with." He shut Karin down, unbothered about her clinging. "Found anything, Suki?"
Suki stood up straight after dusting herself off. She held a USB in hand, frowning. "Another traitor. Does Orochimaru seriously think the Akatsuki is out to get him?"
Sasuke glared. "Who cares? The more missions we take, the more rewards."
Power, more like.
"So that's why!" Karin perked up. "You're totally using Suki, aren't you? I would, too."
"And how would you go about doing that?" Suki asked, tossing the chip to Sasuke without a further regard.
The Uchiha caught it, tucking it away in his pocket.
Karin paused, thinking of a good comeback. Although Suki wasn't entirely concerned about that with her eyes on the fellow kunoichi instead. Almost like a trance, Suki would simply stare at the red colour of Karin's hair.
