You walked the cold icy streets alongside Xiao who would occasionally glance at you as you did the same in confusion. "Is something wrong?" You asked seriously as this behaviour was getting you concerned by every passing second."I'm fine."
"Okay." You nodded as you kept following him. "So where are we going?"
"The art store. For um.. cotton swabs.." he said cautiously as if you were testing him or something. You nodded in silence once again before you stopped walking.
"Wait, Dehya's art store?" You asked as he looked behind once he noticed you weren't following him back.
"Yeah? What other art stores are there in town-"
"Dehya's closed today."
"Oh.."
"Yeah.." you both stood there in silence as the other pedestrians kept waking around you both. You sighed as you looked back towards the tattoo parlour that was already almost out of sight. "Well, we should go back-"
"No." His response was so sudden it startled you a bit. "We're already walking so.. let's just continue?" You looked around as you did remember you had literally nothing to do. Everyone is busy so why not?
"Okay, let's go." You responded as you both kept walking forward. If it wasn't for the towns loud talking and laughing, this would have been much more awkward than it already was. Since you did start to know Xiao a bit more, it didn't bother you as much. You kept quiet since you thought he didn't want to speak or was too tired to speak before he scoffed.
"Why aren't you saying anything.." he muttered. You glanced at him and apologized trying not to slip on the ice.
"Sorry, I didn't know you still wanted to talk."
"What?" He asked in disbelief.
"I thought your social battery ran out or something."
"When my social battery runs out you'll know. I'm okay right now so talk."
"I don't know what to say, why don't you talk? Why do I always have to start the conversations?" You questioned him as he sighed.
"Fine.. how's driving school going?"
"Oh, I haven't gone yet-"
"What?"
"What?"
"Well why have you not gone yet? Don't you want to start driving? You said you did-"
"I know, I guess I forget. Things have been kind of hectic lately."
"Hectic.. what happened?"
"Nothing happened.. I mean I don't know. I just haven't been feeling very well lately."
"Oh.. okay.."
"Yeah."
"Is it because of something in particular?" Yes you wanted to say but you couldn't. You didn't want to say anything to anyone anymore.
"No. I just feel bad." He said nothing else as you both walked over some ice. "Do you ever feel like that?"
"All the time. It's not a good feeling that's for sure."
"Right?"
"Yeah"
"Hey, where are we even walking?"
