"Girl, that's all. Just make sure you have a good time with your man and don't worry about a thing. You are done with all your exams and are officially a graduate, well until the convocation ceremony but whatever, just have fun" rory said to her best friend
It's been a few two days after they finished their final exams in university and they both were in a private booth in a bar close to the airport where they decided to have a drink since lea will be leaving for Spain in a few hours "you bet, I'll try not to have too much fun and I'll bring you souvenirs. Cheers to us babe, we're done with all that school work " lea said while raising her glass and clinking it with her friend's.
"I bet many people will miss you especially teddy"
"Who's teddy?"
"The boy in anatomy who has a crush on you. Theodore Williams, hello!!! ring a bell? The one who almost burnt the lab during a practical class looking at you smiling from the window" lea burst out laughing hard she clutched her stomach
"Oh, Theodore, who calls him teddy? I know him as Theodore. I mean isn't that what they call him in the school? He doesn't really like me, he's just messing around and teasing you guys. He's always been an unserious guy" rory said while downing her glass of wine
"Oh, look at you, you cute little fool"
"Heyy, what for lea" "Well, i don't know maybe because you are too blind to see how many guys drool over you whenever we go out or we're on campus. Girl, you are beautiful and don't you ever doubt that okay? Your eyes are gorgeous because of their colours, your hair is perfect it makes you look more pure and your body, damn girl now I can see why my brother crushes on you" lea winked at her friend
"Hey, hold up. Now you are just being corny" Aurora shuddered
Lea faced her friend, grabbed her by the shoulders and said "Well, let me be because it looks like you have some serious insecurity issues with your self because you have two different eye colours and so what, you clearly need reassurance and I'll give you just that. I'll record my voice and make it your ringtone so that you can hear that everytime"
"That won't be needed but the thought is well appreciated. Now get going, you won't want to miss your flight now, do you?"
Lea also finished her wine and smiled "Oh, don't you worry, you silly girl I'll leave soon I'm just waiting for your companion to get here before I leave"
"Companion?? Which companion lea"
"Hey, it's a guy that works at Chen corporation. He's a nice guy, told me he's seen you around and he likes you so, i set up a date for both of y'all. He'll be here in the next five minutes, I'd better leave"
Rory exclaimed "Hey girl, you can't just set me up on a date with a random guy. What if he's a psychopath?"
"You need this girl, you have never been in a relationship and you're almost twenty one. Just attend to this one please. You trust my judgement right?" She said while she held rory's hands
"Yes, yes it's only because I love you. If not, I'd not entertain this guy"
"Well, thanks babe. Gotta go"
Rory gave her a tight hug "See ya, call me when you land in Spain alright"
"Of course, bye" lea waved both her hands and turned to start walking until she went inside the airport.
Aurora sat back down while twiddling with her fingers hoping to calm her nerves. It's not the first time her friend has set her up on dates with random men. She can't really blame lea but it's all so frustrating sitting and having an awkward conversation with a stranger. Rory was pulled out if her thoughts by a tap on her shoulder which made her jump in fright.
" Hey, I'm sorry for scaring you. It's just that I called your name and you didn't respond. Looks like you zoned out for a while. I'm Declan, it's nice to meet you" the guy whom she was supposed to meet said and she looked up to meet a face that looks handsome with glasses, but not over the top with a head full of auburn hair. Rory smiled at him and shaked his stretched out hand
"I'm Aurora, it's nice to meet you. So, I'll go straight to the point. Sorry for wasting your time Declan, i was just being informed about the date few minutes ago and a date is the last thing on my mind for now. I would really appreciate if you would get this over with and we can go our seperate ways"
Declan scratched the back if his head awkwardly and said "Ohh it's okay, she did tell me you weren't aware and it's obvious that you look tired so why don't we reschedule?"
"Declan, even if you reschedule, i still won't be interested"
He feigns a hurt face "Ouch, well that hurts. Can't you at least give me a chance to take you on a date once more and if you don't like it, i promise I'll back up." He said while shrugging and looking at her with an hopeful eyes
"Ohkay then but not anytime soon"
"Of course, anything you want m'lady, do you need me to drive you back home?" Declan said while guiding her up from her chair and smilling.
"Nah, I'll be fine thanks also, I'm sorry for any inconveniences" she said while looking at him with an apologetic face. She could tell the guy is a nice guy and she doesn't really want to be a bother after all she dismissed the date they were supposed to have
"Hey it's okay. In fact, i appreciate your honesty. Also, what kind of man will I be if I let a lady go home by herself in the night so, I'll be driving you back to yours" Declan said while leading her to his car and opening the door for her
"Wow, chivalry still exists, i thought it was buried"
"Well, i dug it up. Where to m'lady" he said while grinning and starting the car entering her a dress into the GPS of his car, he started the car and drove away into the darkness.
