It's almost 9pm and Aurora had spent the whole day making drafts of the cloth designs she had in her head while she made corrections to the ones that needed it. She only got out of her room for lunch and when she realized it's night, she decided to prepare dinner. She felt bad for not thinking about Jason when she packed his assistant pastries and not him. She decided to make it up to him by making him a sumptuous dinner and then apologize after all, he helped her in her time of desperate need and even took her in when she said she's not ready to go back to her house. She sighed when she thought about the fact that her graduation ceremony is in a couple of days and as much as she loves the serenity and peace this place has to offer, she'd have to leave soon because azalea would soon be back in town.
Aurora sat down on the sofa waiting for Jason to arrive any moment soon since he usually arrives at this time of the night. Feeling bored, she picked the remote and turned on the tv only to hear the anchor woman say "....we hope everyone is at their various houses. Please if you're still outside, make your way to your house or better still stay where you are. There's a weather report on a typhoon happening so ensure to lock your do...." Aurora zoned off as she registered what the woman said. There was an impending typhoon, that explains the gloomy atmosphere since morning. Then she thought again 'there's a typhoon happening and Jason is still outside'. She felt scared because she was the only one at home and there was no way to call Jason. She decided to go look outside whether he's back so she left the house.
After waiting for a few minutes shivering inside the cold atmosphere in the windy night, she thought that the typhoon already started and Jason's caught somewhere in it. She began sobbing and reassuring herself that he'd have probably seen the news then a voice at the back of her head thought that what if he was too busy at work and had no time to watch the news. Her brain started conjuring different scenarios about what if he's safe or what if he's not. She's scared of being alone in a big house while a typhoon is happening. She bit her lips to stop the tears from coming out as she tried to calm herself that he's probably somewhere safe and didn't know how to communicate with her since she'd not gotten her phone yet. She hugged herself shielding her body from the cold. She was dressed in pajamas and a large sweater.
She went back inside the house when the wind was getting stronger and she heard the anchor woman saying that the typhoon has already begun in some areas and that the people should stay safe. Aurora heard some rumbling sounds coming from outside so she thought it was the typhoon and she started crying while praying for Jason to be fine wherever he is. She turned her head to the entrance of the house and saw the French glass doors being opened by Jason who said "Hey, I'm ho..". Aurora didn't let him complete his words when she ran towards him and threw her hands around his neck hugging him tight.
Jason had a long day at work. He planned to leave work early but due to some emergency, he had to visit one of his company branches to approve some improvement that needed to be implemented. By the time he finished there, it was already late and Mark told him about the typhoon. He thought of sleeping at his office since he has a room inside but then he thought of Aurora and the fact that she'd be alone while there's a typhoon so he drove as fast as he could to make it home before the typhoon reached his place. He was shocked when he was welcomed with a tight hug from Aurora who was crying profusely. Shocked, he asked
"Aurora, what's wrong? Did something happened while I was gone? Are you hurt" all he got as reply were more tears and more crying as she grabbed a fist full of his shirt and buried her head in his chest. After a while, she said
"Its all y-you. Why do you have to come a-so lat-late? Are you not an ordinary employee? I thought employees are usually dismissed at five in the ev-evening? Aurora raised her head from his chest and wiped her wet face with the sleeves of her sweater looking up at him with an accusing face
"You had me all worried that something bad happened to you. I thought you were caught in the typhoon you dumb guy. I waited outside for more than twenty minutes and wh-when I didn't see you, i started thinking bad things." Aurora stuttered as she burst into another round of tears. Jason was shocked that she was actually worried for him and even though he was glad that she was worried for him, he hated himself for making her cry. He hugged her and wrapped one arm around her waist while the second one rubbed up and down her back as a way of calming her down
"I'm sorry" he said
"You're a bad man, i even made you dinner to apologize for not packing you pastries in the morning and now it's all cold. You left me all alone in this big house. I was so scared. I hate this type of things" Aurora said as she moved her head from his chest and looked up at him. Jason looked at her eyes that are now red, her stained cheeks and her pouty lips. Even in this situation, he still thought she looked adorable and pretty.
"I'm sorry, it was not intentional, i got held up with some important works. Let's go wash your face and heat the food okay?" Jason said as he grabbed her hand and took her into the to her room and made his way into the bathroom before he rinsed her face and sat her down on the counter. He left to get face towels and dried her face with it.
"You okay?" He asked
"Yeah" she replied, her voice hoarse from all the crying. Jason carried her from the counter and placed her down. He walked her back to the kitchen where they had their dinner in silence.
"It was delicious, thank you" Jason said standing up from the chair before he moved to help Aurora with her chair. She tried packing the plates and Jason took the plates from her and said "leave it, I'd do it tommorow okay? You can go to sleep" she nodded, too tired to say anything. Jason watched her walk away before he packed his plates. He's seriously rethinking his decision of telling Mark to stop the cleaners and chef from coming just because he wants to enjoy an uninterrupted time with her.
He walked up the stairs to his bedroom. He took off his clothes and had a hot shower. After the shower, he sat at his study table, opened his laptop and started checking the e-mails from Markus about the progress of the project he was working on in Spain. He heard a knock on his door and walked to open it. He saw Aurora standing By the door looking up at him before she said
"Are you working?"
"Yes"
"Okay, uhm, I'll just leave. I'm sorry for disturbing you" she said as she turned around to leave before he stood in front of her and asked
"What do you want Aurora?"
"I'm sorry but can I stay here tonight, the typhoon Is hitting very hard and I just can't sleep. I don't mean any inconvenience, I can sleep on the floor, i just want to be with someone tonight. I'm scared" she bit her lip while she fiddled with her fingers
"Come on in, you are welcomed here anytime you feel like you don't want to be alone in your room okay? And you're not sleeping on the floor" Jason said opening the door wide for her to enter
"Thanks, i don't want to make you uncomfortable though, i can just take the..." She said as she looked around the huge master bedroom. It's her first time seeing what it really looks like
"The bed's big enough so there won't be Inconveniences. Also, you can inconvenient me all you want darling, no complaints" he said with a smirk
"Shameless" Aurora smiled as she got on the bed and Jason pulled the covers on her, tucking her to sleep. Jason went to close his laptop before getting inside the covers pulling Aurora close to him while rubbing his hand up and down her back. He smiled as he watched her sleeping face illuminated by the dim lights in the room. He sighed in content, if this was what inconvenience feels like, then he wouldn't mind being inconvenienced by her his whole life.
