"Thank you very much, i appreciate your help and i didn't mean to be a bother or to wet your car seat or to stop you in the middle of your journey, i promise" Aurora said while looking at the man that helped her who hasn't said a word which made Aurora thought of the chances that he's an accomplice of those guys and he pretended to help her while driving her to who knows where in the middle of a rainy night, a perfect time to murder someone. Aurora shivered at the thought and looked around the car. It had black seats that smelt like leather and fancy wine. The car was cozy and warm, a complete contrast to the cold winds that were blowing and stinging her skin when she was outside.
"Thank you " she said again when she realized the man won't probably respond but he turned his head to look at her.
Jason turned his head to look at the girl who was shivering with her teeth chattering looking scared out of her wits as she looked around his car, she looked familiar for some reason. He had a long day at work after coming back from a business meeting in Spain, having lunch meetings with clients, signing necessary paperworks and holding a meeting with the head of the departments of his company which turned out with him being annoyed and firing two people before he left for his house with his Secretary and meeting his mother there, she came with a girl she wanted to set him up with claiming she'd missed him and wanted to have dinner together.
He had left his house in annoyance while sending his Secretary home before he proceeded to go to the favourite of all his numerous houses. It was secluded and nobody except his Secretary, his sister, his best friend and a few of his most trusted men knows the address of the place because it's located in a secluded area surrounded by forests and hills. Not many people have an idea that there are buildings in the area.
He was shocked to see someone raising his hand until he wiped the car's front glass with the windshield and saw that it's a female. She was in a nightgown that was torn in different places revealing some parts that are quite disturbing, she was crying and her hair was a mess with branches and dirt sticking out of it, her face was dirty and stained with mud, her lips and cheeks were bloody and her shoulder was bleeding. That was definitely not what he expected but he figured she must have been in trouble of some sort. He was brought back from his thoughts when he saw her lips moving
"Umm, sir you can drop me off at the next junction" Aurora scratched her head
"And where do you plan to stay the night looking like a homeless girl? Are you even familiar with this area?"
"Uh no, I'm not uhh.." She laughed awkwardly
"Just shut your mouth"
"Yes sir, I'm sorry for disturbing you, i appreciate your help"
Jason clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes. By this time, they've already gotten to his house and he pulled over in the front of the house turning off the ignition, he got down from his side and walked over to help Aurora open the door, she felt her knees go weak from running earlier and almost fell to the wet ground before a hand came around her back to help her up and carried her bridal style
Aurora panicked "sir, what are you doing, i can walk, I'm fine please put me down"
"Yea of course, you are totally fine even I can see that. You almost fell when you tried to stand on your feet. Now unless you'd like to crawl inside the house in this rain, you'd calm your nerves and let me carry you like this" Jason replied, sarcasm dripping from his words as he threw his keys to one of his men who gave him an umbrella before he proceeded entering the house.
The house was a massive two-story building. It was painted white on the outside but when you get inside, the light from the huge chandeliers hanging down from the ceiling made the black and grey interior more prominent.
Aurora's jaw was wide open as she took in the design of the house, since she was from a rich household, seeing different house designs was like a norm to her and she doesn't get fazed by interior designs but this particular one looked like it was built by the best interior designers in the country and one word for it was 'fabulous'.
Jason set her up on the vanity table in the kitchen because he does not want her to get his couch dirty. He grabbed some things from a cupboard before carrying her towards a room and entering the bathroom then settling her down on a platform.
"You can have your shower here, there's everything you'll need in here. I'll leave clothes for you on the bed, i think I should have clothes that are close to your size. By the way, a shower won't cut it, have a thorough bath and wash your hair too. You stink" he said and headed out of the bathroom to and pressed a remote that made the glasses around the bathroom dim then he left the room without waiting for her reply.
'Rude much?' Aurora thought to herself before she managed to get where the tub is and stripping herself off the tattered nightgown she had on before entering into the tub and soaking herself inside a warm water.
After she finished cleaning up herself, she got out of the bathroom and saw a black hoodie and knickers on the bed. She put them on and struggled with the waist band of the knicker after which she dried her hair with the towel before moving down the stairs. She limped towards the kitchen where she saw him. He had changed into a grey joggers and grey shirt and his hair looked wet, curly and so black. Aurora just had the chance to look at the man who saved her and she realized she didn't see how handsome he was due to the darkness earlier but now that she's calm and she's somewhere bright, she saw that he has prominent jawline, Grey eyes and thin lips. She was sure his face was bestowed upon him by the gods and judging from his demeanour, expensive car, his house and the bodyguards she saw at the entrance, he must be some kind of big shot. His face literally screams gorgeousness.
"Hey, I'm done bathing"
Jason turned to look at her. Now that her face is rid of all the dirt he thought she looked beautiful with his hoodie swallowing her petite frame and her hair doesn't smell of wood anymore.
"C'mere, you didn't blowdry your hair"
"My arms were aching " she said as she walked towards where he stood and he pulled out a chair for her where she sat down fiddling with her fingers. Jason took the dryer and started blow-drying her hair
"You really don't have to sir, I'll be fine with just using the towel to dry it"
"Yes, until you catch a cold and get more sick than you already are. Jason, the name's Jason by the way not sir"
"Oh okay, si.. I mean Jason, I'm Aurora but my friends call me rory" Aurora smiled and looked up at him.
For some reason, the statement she said seemed familiar to Jason 'the name's Aurora but my friends call me rory'.
Then it all clicked, he recognized her and recalled where he met her but she probably doesn't seem to recognize him. Well, he won't blame her, it's been years and her hair colour looks different from the one she had then. He'd have doubted she's the one if not for the same eye colour from then. He wondered what happened to her.
After Jason finished drying her hair, he packed it into a messy bun and proceeded to treating her wounds. "I called a doctor, he'd come soon to check up on you"
"Oh my God, you didn't have to"
"I've already called him, so deal with it"
"Well, thanks, i appreciate" she let out a small smile
After he finished treating her wounds and bandaging the open wounds, he offered her a cup of water which she ended up drinking three more before he took helped her up the stairs into the room where she showered and got dressed
"Will you not ask?... you don't know me before and you helped me, you even brought me to your house, treated my wounds and called me a doctor yet you didn't ask me what I was doing at that place you picked me up from"
Aurora asked grabbing Jason's hand while he turned to leave
"You look like you needed help and you looked miserable earlier. We can postpone the discussion till tommorow. You're tired so go to sleep and I could really use some much needed rest than talking right now.
"Okay, goodnight "
"Hnmm".
