Aurora yawned, bored out of her mind. After Jason left for work, she'd taken her bath, changed the bandages, used the drugs, slept, woke up and slept again since she had nothing to do, she decided to walk around the house for a bit. She started from the sitting room, there was an open kitchen that was connected to the sitting room, and it had everything in grey colour; the cupboard, the walls, the cabinet, even the marble vanity was grey. Then she moved up the stairs, there were only four rooms there; one master bedroom and she guessed the others were guest rooms. In her opinion, the house was bland. Yes, there were a few vases here and there but the flowers were fake and not colourful at all, there were no artworks hanging on the wall. The house needs a bit of colour She decided to let her legs carry her outside despite her brain telling her that she's not very familiar with the neighborhood and worse, those guys that kidnapped her might be lurking and she'd not know because the place's surrounded with tall trees.
The first thing she noticed when she got outside were the trees and vegetations, they were so green. The scenery was so good, with the blue and white sky and the green environment, the place was a sight to behold. She walked around the house and saw a pool and a white swing chair. She realized that there were few houses around the place. Deciding that she'd seen enough, she entered through the glass door and went straight to the kitchen, deciding to be useful and prepare food since it's the least she could do with the help he'd offered her.
She rummaged the fridge and found few veggies that can be enough to cook. She made a mental note to tell him to restock his fridge and go grocery shopping 'the dude really needs it'. She decided on stir fry spaghetti that'll be enough for two but thought about the possibility of his Secretary coming and finally concluded to cook food that'll be more than enough for two people in case his Secretary comes and if he doesn't, she'd gladly do the honour of eating it herself after all she's a good cook. She then remembered about lea ' Oh shoot, i haven't spoken to Lea in two days, i really hopes she's distracted by her boyfriend and won't call me. She'd worry if I'm not reachable'. After Aurora finished preparing the food, the front door opens and Jason walked in.
''something smells good'' he said after dropping his briefcase on the couch
''Hey, you're back. How was your day? I cooked by the way. Hope you like spaghetti" Aurora said while setting the table
"My day was..uhh, the same as it always was. What'd you spend all day doing stranger? and how'd you know the way around my kitchen?" Jason made his way towards the table and sat down
"What'd you mean the same? I did a little tour of the area and I must say, this place's beautiful, really. Other than that, my day's been pretty boring. I don't know, maybe because I'm stuck in a stranger's house nursing wounds from a kidnapping and I haven't even thought of what to do when I leave here or who I can trust because I just finished my last exams few days ago and I'm a graduate. Well, not officially cause we haven't had the graduation ceremony yet and I don't really have anyone.....well, other than Azalea, she's my best friend but she's out of the country to meet her boyfriend and...I'm rambling again, aren't I?"
Aurora glanced at Jason to find him looking at her with a bored expression "Yeah, you are. And you don't have to leave soon if you feel pressured about going back out there, i don't mind having a company for the next couple of days at least until you're healed, then you can leave and go back to your life"
"Oh, are you sure cause I don't want to be a bother"
"No I'm not, what am I saying? You know what, you can leave. As a matter of fact, you can leave right now"
"Wh-what, Ohh i thought you said th..."Aurora sputtered
"If you leave, how are you going to take care of yourself? You just said you don't have any friends which means that you'll have to take care of yourself with that bruised, weak body of yours. When someone offers to help you, just accept it if you really need it. You don't have to stress out the matter like that"
"Look, i already said you can stay here and I know you might be reluctant because you don't know me before, but trust me darling, if I really wanted to hurt you, I wouldn't have waited till now. I'd have done it the night I found you half naked and crying on the street" Jason said while he stood up from the chair
"Oh, well, you didn't have to be mean. I-I just don't want to make you uncomfortable with having a new presence in your house but if you're okay with it, then I'd stay. Thank you"
Jason turned to leave and Aurora said "are you going to sleep, goodnight"
"Nah, I'm going back to the office, i think I missed a meeting"
"Wait, are you serious?" Jason looked back at her with a bored expression and a sigh "No! Of course not" Jason exclaimed
"Oh, haha, very funny jason"
"Thanks, i find myself funny as well" Jason said as he walked away
"Well, goodnight. If you don't wish me, I'll wish you cause you helped me, jerkface"
Aurora huffed as she turned to pack the plates still annoyed at him.
